A live modular techno performance is a unique and captivating sonic experience that involves using modular synthesizers to create electronic music in real-time. In this context, the term "modular" refers to the use of separate hardware modules interconnected to generate and modulate sound.

During a live modular techno set, the artist manually manipulates the modules to create a variety of sounds, sequences, and effects. Each module plays a specific role, such as oscillators for generating tones, filters for shaping the sound, modulators for introducing dynamic variations, and effects for adding spatiality and color.

The performance can be highly improvised as the artist adjusts parameters in real-time, creating complex layers of sound and rhythmic changes. The result is a unique and continually evolving sonic experience, often influenced by the artist's mood and the interaction between various modules.

Michele, cloudsurfer, is an electronic music artist specializing in Techno, Deep, Experimental, and Ambient genres. Based in Rome, he’s the founder of Psyco Records. His music made by Eurorack and Buchla systems, is a direct extension of his electronic circuits. He performs live analog shows without post-production, creating each album as a direct cut from these performances.
