Written, produced, and performed by yours truly.

The album title, and a lot of the lyricism, drew from the experiences, emotions, and thought patterns I've had over the last year and a half. I have lots of anxieties about the world, but I'm grateful for the love and support of my friends and family.

Musically, the biggest inspiration for this album has been my Weber upright piano, which we bought second-hand shortly after moving to CT. It has a practice pedal, which plops a nice thick felt right down between the strings and the hammers. I'll sit down and doodle on it daily. In the end, I ended up recording it for every song on the album except the two instrumental songs, ironically enough. The last song on the album is a solo piano/vocal piece.

Our live version of the Wolf shows how our recordings evolve into something entirely different for the live experience.  We want to maintain that mean, driving, energy that moves the dance floor while also preserving the melodies and vocals heard on the original recordings. 

Most of the songs off "Tomorrow Today pt.1" were not built for the club environment so we had to remix and rework them to give them power that the dance floor commands.

Savoy and Bright Lights - The Wolf (Savoy Live Version)

First part of two to the Finale of this Baroque Miserere score, circa. 1689, from M.R. de LaLande's first book of motets.  This is an "interpretation" from the original, hand-written score.  We corrected several errors, we adapt instrumentation, and transcribe octaves or voices to "better fit" our interpretation.  This track, specifically, omits the traditional bass continuo chords (bass of the organ is enough) and substitutes segments of a male choir with a solo voice.

Many thoughts and feelings came to my mind while composing this piece, however, I always imagined it being heard in the middle of a majestic and natural place. In this sense, my obvious suggestion is: close your eyes and free your mind, there is no destination.

Old Friend

The weather has taken a turn for the better, making staying at home seem more like punishment. I do manage to get out for a short walk along the seafront everyday, but then so does everyone else and you end up playing "dodge the potentially infected".
This is another of those one take with multi plugins (8 this time). The track took 5m 25s to make. One of the plugins is arpeggiated, giving the piece a sense of urgency and the title.

Michael R McMahon (ASCAP)(composer/arranger/engineer) researches obscure, often hand-written or incomplete Classical and Baroque compositions; transcribes or adapts them; and produces Electronica performances for digital online archiving.  Michael also plays keys, programs DAWs, and engineers sound for various local bands, churches, and live events.  A primary focus is to employ music for the honor of our Intelligent Designer, as well to promote other alternative, unorthodox music and musicians for that means.
