What a fantastic year 2013 has been for Sudbeat with great music from Guy J, Chaim, Egbert, Pig & Dan, Petar Dundov, Ulrich Schnauss Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile  and many more top producers, plus our first artist album from Guy Mantzur and also the launch of the Sudbeats series, and the brand new online store sudbeatstore.spinshop.com.
So to the first release of 2014, we bring up hot new music from the Frankfurt born, Berlin based DJ & producer Martin Roth.
As a classically trained pianist Martin spend most of his time at home in the studio making music and he has a number of cool deep and textured grooves.
He has released music on Get Physical and Anjunadeep and his tracks and remixes have been continually supported by the likes of Sasha, Solomun, John Digweed, Eric Prydz and  Photek. 
For this release on Sudbeat he delivers two tracks: 'Suite 909' is a hypnotic deep intense number with its rising pads creating a moody yet uplifting atmosphere before the synth stabs land giving a timeless feel and a stripped back journey that encapsulates your mind.
On remix duties we went to Sahar Z, one of the best DJs and producers from Israel and co-owner of the legendary The Cat & Dog in Tel Aviv. His remix is a percussive layered gem that utilizes the pads from the original but with a chunky twist  that teases and wraps your senses around this hot remix.
Closing the package we have 'Epic Waves'. A subtle soothing enduring voyage that floats along effortlessly, before the sub by baseline lifts the feeling elevating it to heavenly warmth.
As you'd expect from Sudbeat, another superb release that will certainly be ticking a lot of boxes for many djs around the globe.

Label artist Khen has done a special 'Bronzed Re-Edit' of his classic 'Sunflakes' track. As a thank you for the great support we received on his 'Pollen Spreader EP' we're offering this as a Free Download. The Original version proved to be one of the biggest tracks of the summer season, earning regular play from Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Eventually released in mid November, the track enjoyed immense success, reaching #13 in Beatport's Progressive House tracks chart (almost unheard of for an underground record). Now five weeks later it still sits in the top 50 and Khen has given it new life with his aptly coined 'Bronzed Re-Edit'. With an indistinct take on the melodies  and new found atmospheric focus, the much loved Israeli artist has crafted another exquisite dance floor gem. It's unique combination of warm ambience and rugged grooves produce a tranquil yet raw beauty. Over the last 12 months Brian's sound has taken on a life of its own, increasingly organic and deeply emotional, the US artist has further stretched his sonic boundaries, with luminaries such as Adriatique, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin and Thugfucker now play listing his music. His return to microCastle has been much anticipated and a quiet start to 2016 has only made his rapidly expanding fan base even hungrier for new material. Brian now presents his second EP for the Canadian imprint entitled 'Belles Du Shaman' alongside a remix from Eagles & Butterflies.

The EP's second selection 'Plastic Memoir' finds Brian crafting what might be the most heartfelt composition of his career. It's ten magnificent minutes is highlighted by subtle emotive shifts, minimalistic yet powerful grooves and a melody that will resonant in your heart long after the night is over, as Brian describes "Plastic Memoir was written to be a long musical journey. Something magical happened when I played these melodies on the keys. I must've hit some notes that took me back to a memory that never really existed, but made me feel vulnerable in a beautiful way. That's where the title 'Plastic Memoir' comes from. A memory that really wasn't there - or was it? maybe from my past life? who knows. I kept it musically minimal and focused on the melodies which grow strong and then weaken throughout this magical trip."

The release concludes with the appropriately titled 'Eternal Sunrise'. A groovy, percussive journey with haunting motifs and sultry rhythms. With a deeper emotion and sense of reflection it rounds the EP out with an uplifting moment, as Brian states "Eternal Sunrise is the brightest record of all, although it holds a deep tone to it. The early morning hours of the desert inspired me. Moments of joy delivered by the rays of light. A bright new day that takes you into the unknown. Loopy percussive rhythms and melodies that suck you right in. This track is the perfect sonic interpretation of that moment in time and soul."

The lone interpretation of 'Belles Du Shaman' is provided by Eagles & Butterflies who is making his first appearance on microCastle. Currently based in Los Angeles Chris Barratt aka Eagles & Butterflies has quickly become one of the underground's most inspiring talents. With a contemporary flair and fresh approach to production, the Dixon and John Digweed favourite has not surprisingly found a home on both Innervisions and Bedrock, along with Get Physical and his own Spread Your Wings imprint. 2016 has already been met with several highlights including EPs on Bedrock and Exit Strategy along with a remix of Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi. For his 'Belles Du Shaman' interpretation Chris has stripped the track down and reinvented the elements over a punchy groove, carrying the main themes on a more subversive journey. A wonderfully warped third act, complete with dynamic fills and a twisty emotive lead, ultimately seals the tracks brilliance, making it one of Eagles & Butterflies most sought after remixes this year.

The release begins with the title track and finds Brian carving out one of his most distinctive grooves to date. Layered beats and mystical pads set the piece in motion before an underbelly of warm bass swells fully initiates the journey. Highlighted by soulful vocal stabs the first act strikes an emotive chord, foreshadowing a break of warm harmonies and cinematic tones, ultimately leading to a third act of timely drops and heart-warming rushes. It's one of Brian's most unique creations and not surprisingly it comes from a special place, as he describes "Belles Du Shaman is a musical story of pain & struggle as well as hope & light. The hard drums and synths set the tone for this deep, pulsating and melancholic EP, that drowns in a sea of sounds, touching every weak corner of my heart. When I wrote this track I had just visited the mountains of Utah, more than 10,000 feet up. In a night of music and stars I was moved by how powerful and meaningful a space in time can be. A land that provides us with water, food, shelter... it gives us life as well as meaning. Imagine losing this. How it can impact our life and culture as well as our history and being. The end result of all these feelings and realizations came out in this track."

Robert Babicz returns home to his excellent BABICZSTYLE imprint with 
five tasty treats for your ears and your feet. Here we find Robert integrating a lot of melodies, a stack of melancholic sounds and his beloved acid lines to beautiful effect, pushing his sound in a different direction, while still sounding like classic Babicz.

Starting proceedings we have 'Melancholy' that oozes with emotion, and subtleties, deep but warm, happy but sad, with a retro feel about it, yet as fresh a s daisy.

'Cats In Space' is an epic affair, it locks you in to its spell and undulates beautifully, as we are teased along gracefully through this voyage. Gently building and locking you in to its magical spell, this gem intensifies and is one of those magical tracks that sends crowds wild. Hints of yesteryear with its trance like nods, but brought back to date by Mr B.

'Far Away' is a deeper vibe, a little tougher, and out comes the 303, but in a restrained manor here, as this sound track style gem unfurls.

'Take A Walk At The Sugarside' is more restrained acid from Robert, adding melodies and warm, but with that underpinning grittiness.

And to close things off, the Acid Mix of 'Far Away'. The analog factor is take up a notch as we are treated to some 303 filthiness, yet shrouded in emotion.
