With a hectic worldwide touring schedule and the completion of their debut Flying Circus Ibiza residency @ Sankeys, studio time was scarce for the boys.  In the few weeks they had back home in Barcelona, Anthony and Luca put their heart and soul into the creation of the Excuse My Wilderness EP. A process that took over 6 months to complete. Israeli producer Yotam Avni is back with a fresh cut of uplifting, inspirational dance-floor music, along the same lines as some of the killer cuts he's produced for the likes of Robsoul, Be As One and Osunlade's Yoruba records imprint. Weaving elements of Detroit techno, jacking Chicago house and deep atmospheres, Yotam Avni's productions - either under his own name or pseudonyms - Avadon and Jersey Real Estate - are guaranteed to keep the midnight oil burning, no matter the crowd. It's with this reputation that Ovum Recordings welcomes the passionate producer to it's ever-swelling ranks.

Yotam's debut for Ovum Recordings is of the same quality and ilk that weve come to expect. The title track's original mix is proud and uptight, bursting in with a clipped but swollen kick drum, fat around the edges and deep in it's descent, before a vocal snippet chimes in through a mesh of bass gradually stomping its way into earshot with a gentle canter before those bass tones become a full on wobble and the driving rhythm to the track is notched up on the break, mixing Yotam's trademark uplifting house with galvanized, toughened techno beats. 

On the remix we welcome the Dutch bastion of techno Mr. Steve Rachmad, who delivers a superb rework under his darker and deeper Sterac alias. Jacking, rolling and pumping, his remix focuses on the filters. Dry flanges, acid stabs and filtered analogue synths sit atop a frenetic hi hat for a bass-less but high impact smasher. 

Closing the EP is the intriguingly titled Bbbooy Skat, that runs with a hypnotic, wavering acid synth lines and muted, clipped kick drums - reminiscent of his live looping techniques when Djing - before igniting into progressively building techno roller, adding elements of percussion atmosphere and melody, never once shifting focus from that hypno-top line. A subdued but effective midnight roller that offers an endless conclusion to another triumphant set from the Ovum Recordings crew.

After the success of previous instalments from his native Toronto, then London, global dance

music tastemaker Jonny White now offers up a third edition of his ‘I Live In’ series. Inspired by

his current home in north west Spain, this fantastic compilation is a real eye opener, pulling

together exclusive tracks from no fewer than 16 essential electronic music talents, all of whom

live in sunny Barcelona.

White himself, as well as being the founder of No.19 Music, is now the sole force behind the

widely acclaimed act, Art Department. Having turned out two albums, a fabric mix CD and

countless essential tracks and sets around the world, he now puts all his years of A&R nous

into this tantalising new release.

It is Jonny White who kicks things off in terrific fashion, offering up his first recording under his

own name in half a decade. Beautifully spacious, with a dubby, industrial feel, ‘Bodies’ sees

White truly going back to his roots. With subtle drum programming and a dark vocal riff that

repeats the title, this is hypnotic, body shaking house music of the highest order. DC10

regular and Minus and Cadenza associate Davide Squillace then serves up the hard hitting

‘Social Glue’ with its killer kicks and turbulent synths all making for a high pressure groove.

After that there are rubbery minimal techno cuts from Carlo Lio, expertly hypnotic and cerebral

deep house rollers from live performance maestro Guti in association with Morgan and then

woozy, cosmically tinged offerings from Audiofly that carry you deep into the night. Mexican

Desolat associate Hector impresses with his stripped back and slick tech cut ‘LFK’ and No.19

Music family member Maher Daniel offers the synapse-firing, prickly textures and synthetic

drums of ‘Nights Into Mornings.’

The second half of this excellent compilation carries on coming up with the goods thanks to

long time Barcelona resident Funk D’Void who turns trippy and seductive on his patient and

slow burning ‘It Could Have Never Happened.’ The likes of System of Survival, Robbie Akbal,

Harvard Bass, Dance Spirit and Christian Burkhardt & Andre Buljat offer everything from bass

heavy peak time cuts to infectious and loopy rollers that are certain to drive dancefloors wild.

Ahead of her debut single on the label, Jade offers up the mesmerising ‘Edge’ before the

selection is closed out by Fosky & Teeloo who come up trumps with two spacious, steamy and

heady deep house cuts that bring things back down perfectly.

This is not only a fantastic selection of music, but is also masterfully sequenced so that it plays

out like a club set. Once again then, No.19 has put together an essential team that brims with

talent.

Opening up her account with the world renowned label is Process S, a heavyweight, enthralling house track with a wonderfully off kilter and broken feel to it. Compellingly designed, the track layers pulsating bass and disembodied synth stabs over some inspired drum programming to create something almost otherworldly. Then comes the equally brilliant but quite different Process C. This one is more direct and driven, with a raw techno feel that is offset by the haunting vocals snippets and subtle melodies, sublime stuff! Steyoyoke’s ‘Emmanuel’ EP has been lived and loved by several members of the family. The original, by Dizharmonia featuring vocals by Kled Moné, has been remixed by Soul Button as well as Clawz SG in this dauntingly harmonious EP. An instrumental of ‘Emmanuel’ is also featured, to give way for a full appreciation of the productive elements. 
Dizharmonia’s original version of ‘Emmanuel’ is a tasteful collection of varying sounds, arranged in an immaculate manner which swallows listeners in. Kled Moné’s vocals add a a luscious texture to this ethereal track, making way for a space-like atmospheric vibe, transforming dance floors and lights into planets and stars.
Soul Button’s remix features an array of shakes and twists that add an extra groove in your step. The synthesized elements bring forth a playful rhythm, making Soul Button’s remix slightly bouncier in it’s intricacies. Soul Button manages to add those elements which make his production stand out, whilst remaining true to Dizharmonia’s original simultaneously. 
Clawz SG takes on ‘Emmanuel’ in his own way; perhaps the most complex of all arrangements featured, Clawz SG truly makes this track his own. Using manipulations that seek to sharpen the peaks, and dig deeper into the lows, this melodic track organically displays both Dizharmonia’s and Clawz SG’s talents. 
It is just to claim that ‘Emmanuel’ is a rarity in the sense that it is almost a perfectly accurate description of the Steyoyoke label - written with sounds instead of words. A strong EP featuring many members of the Steyoyoke family, ‘Emmanuel’ is a a reflection of the progress and love behind Steyoyoke.

From the prolific mind of Turkish maestro, Erdi Irmak, 2014's "We Won't Sleep Tonight" EP for Intemporal Music illustrated why the Istanbul resident has been so sought after through a swathe of original production material. As "The Hit" now receives its own release on Yin : Yang, a pair of new remixes from Argentina and Hungary make their own contribution.

Robert R. Hardy needs little introduction to underground music cognoscenti. A prolific Hungarian producer, his work since a debut for Sound Vessel in late 2013 has produced a wealth of material signed to some of the finest modern imprints. Thus Stellar Fountain, Soundteller and Clinique has alone accounted for over a century of production credits as 2016 continues to provide a string of successful releases. Supported by such leading lights as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Ruben de Ronde, Robert R. Hardy makes a very welcome debut on Yang with a typically impressive reworking of "The Hit". 

Taking a sumptuous percussive rhythm section and strong beat to form a central spine, Hardy has intelligently reimagined the melodic phrasing of the original to create a work resonant in the hypnotic themes found in Erdi Irmak's work while simultaneously creating an innovative new approach. The resultant effect illustrates why Robert R. Hardy continues to dominate the underground progressive scene.

‘Blazer’ is the twenty-third release of Aftertech Records and the second release on the label for the talented Matt Dwellers. He is the first on the label to release a second EP with us. In order to celebrate this occasion, we invited the great remixers Bessiff and Nick Devon to do their magic. The minimalistic and deep sound of Matt combined with Bessiff’s hypnotic vibes and the power of Nick Devon, this has become a very diverse EP in which everyone can find something they like for sure!

Matt Dwellers shows his immense talent once again with the title track Blazer. Right from the start, he manages to get you in a wonderful trance. Quickly a vocal arises which only strengthens this vibe. Once the smooth bassline comes in the dream is complete. Halfway he plays with a light waving pluck which drifts along with the beat. All together this track has such a unique vibe that it is hard to be captured in words and just has to be heard.

In Mirage he shows the more spacy side of his music. As is his signature sound, Matt has cleverly placed percs and uplifting special effects. A strong and mesmerizing bassline lays the groundwork for upbeat shakers and airy synths. This is a track in which you will lose yourself completely from beginning to end. A must listen!

The first remix on this EP is by Bessiff. He reworked Blazer into something more powerful. A growling bassline works in perfect harmony with a hypnotizing arpeggio which leads to a wonderful build up. In the breakdown everything is slowly taken away to make room for a light and soft synth. And then suddenly, in one explosion everything comes back together. A remix very well done!

Nick Devon did things totally different and turned Blazer upside down. This track tells a story in several chapters. It starts out with an ominous arpeggio backed up with all kinds of small clashes and percs. This leads to a strong beat and an echoing melody growing more and more in power up until the break comes in. When it is almost quiet he introduces an even stronger melody to bring it all back with one last bang!

A wonderful EP by even greater artists. This is a must have for sure!

Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a leader of the underground dance music scene.  His Perspectives radio show and podcast reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month.  He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. Guy J's 'Field Trip' rendition of 'Climb to the Sun' by Third Son ft. Haptic | coming soon

Chosen as one of Beatport's best tracks of 2016, Third Son's 'Climb to the Sun' returns for the 2017 summer season with a new interpretation from Guy J.  microcastle has become a comfortable home for the Israeli artist since debuting on the label in 2011. Now returning for his fifth appearance, Guy's highly sought-after 'Climb to the Sun' rendition is finally unveiled. 

A deep friendship and mutual respect has developed over time between the Canadian imprint and Guy, and so impressed was he on first hearing  Haptic’s lyrical contribution to the piece that he asked for the parts to create his own mix, showcasing the Australian’s vocal to suit his own DJ sets. The end result is the ‘Guy J Field Trip Remix’, a magical and intricately crafted ten minute journey that has become a near closing track in his sets for the last eight months.

Guy J’s work is always touched with a magic and emotion that few rival. Forever drawing influence from contrasting styles, genres and concepts, he has become synonymous with creating innovative, out-of-the-box productions. Adhering precisely to that ethos, his remix of ‘Climb To The Sun’ embraces his ability to craft music that is perfectly suited to a particular point in an evening’s entertainment. The thoughtful, sparse musical intro provides the perfect backdrop to introduce Haptic’s track-defining and highly reflective lyrical contribution. Every small element within the arrangement holds a unique sonic space, crafted to perfection and precisely positioned to create an evolving and deeply emotive storyboard. It is Haptic’s nostalgic vocals that become the focal point as the music ebbs, flows and melts down to a subtle background throb, before breaking into a delicious, hip-swinging percussive section that perfectly builds anticipation for a cosmic finale. In this sense, it is perhaps a faultless creative lesson from one of the scene’s finest innovators, a true master at work.

Neither Inxec nor Droog need an introduction. They are established artists in their own right, Inxec crafting melodic techno cuts day in day out, and Droog being the brains behind one of the most successful US labels in recent times, Culprit. We are lucky enough to snap up this fresh EP, "Rude", which demonstrate exactly what happens when two great talents get together and spend sleepless nights in the studio. 

"Rude" is a dark twisted and ominous number until the female vocal comes in and rips through the track like a ray of light after the thunderstorm. It's a belter of a track, with many twists and turns but never losing sight of the place it was made for - the dance floor. 

The legend, Brett Johnson, turns not one, but two interpretations of "Rude". The “Brett Johnson Channel Mix” embodies the alter ego in one self. Slowly creeping up then cascading into a groovy climax.  that makes you want to throw your hands in the air. The "Twerk Mix" offers a stellar alternative twist to the original.

Special Case turn in a darker affair of "Rude" which should certainly please those with an off kilter sense of melody. With funky beeps and spine trembling cracks this song is like a whip on the dance floor. Not to mention the sensual lyrics mid track that encourage sporadic dance moves.  

"Bad Timing", despite the name, couldn't have at a better time, the lighter groove being is a contrast to the previous track yet complementing the EP with perfection.

Supernature unleashes Tamer Malki’s soulful mystery with the emotional four-track EP, Lifted.

Tamer has been picking up well deserved international attention with his recent release, ‘Change Your Mind,’ on Kindish (Get Physical’s sister label). His sound is instinctive and current; it evokes a level of emotion that is both uplifting and grounding. You can hear his desert ancestry in-between the bass and claps, feeling its warmth in resonant melody.

The word DEEP comes to mind when pounding this EP, but that’s an understatement. Perhaps there are no words to communicate the primitive sounds the soul makes, luckily there is music for that, and Tamer Malki is speaking the enigmatic language of the heart in both Lifted and Steel Breeze. AlexKid and Fabio Giannelli, serve up remixed variations that add a whole new dimension to an already seamless production.

Lifted sweeps you off your feet, and dissolves the ground below, evoking images of an astral dream; your body effortlessly carried over villages and cities, over sand dunes and mountains, beckoned by far away drums and mysterious vocals by Alex Nazar. Tribal percussion, sonorous bass and well-paced snares only start the journey through an orchestra of discord and harmony which is the human experience. All a bit heady but deeply moving and incredibly danceable.

Fabio Giannelli, with 13 years of dance music experience and some summer hits also coming out of Get Physical and Steve Lawler’s, Viva Warriors, brings to the Lifted remix a more techy sound and a quicker delivery of hefty bass, not forgoing the airy galactic elements of the original track. Fabio amplifies the discord bringing listeners to a level of restful unease which is perfectly timed and then placated by the tracks deep and alluring vocals.

Steel Breeze, is possibly on the lighter side, with deep native bass sounds which meet the modern world in sonic alchemy. Kicking off with a deep melody and travelling bass, this track’s got undeniable rhythm and a sound that carries. Wafting guitar riffs laid over rain sticks and Tamer’s signature spaced sounds bring captivating notions of warm Balearic sunsets or even a midnight jungle rendezvous. Always blending dark with the light, the deep groovy bass could also easily take you through sunrise and into oblivion. 
AlexKid, is renowned for his remixes from Nina Kraviz to Damian Lazarus. His collaborations with M.A.N.D.Y and home base at Watergate club in Berlin have made him an integral part of the Berlin music scene and he brings all that force to his Steel Breeze Tooldub Remix.
