We feel this set is a perfect representation of that deephouse sound which is taking over eastern Europe as we speak. Warm deep sounds with dashing hats full of warm bases and pretty rhodes, add to that a couple of amazing timeless disco tracks/samples and you’ve got the vibe we’re going for. Funkyjaws resides from Belarus and got picked up quickly because of his briljant two releases on Kolour LTD which he produced alongside Four Walls. His latest work just came out on Thatmanmonkz’s Shadeleaf and more is to be found on Petr Serkin’s Freedom Sessions. One of our favourite edits is actually produced by Funkyjaws and is called Star Struck which you can find on Glen View. But before we go any further and come across all starstruck, let’s take it easy and listen to this beautiful podcast, which even contains some unreleased material by the man himself.

Izzamuzzic - Adventure ( Original Mix ) ❤

This week we have an exclusive session with the Argentinian producer Sebastian Olano (@sebastianolano),   Seba has been in love with music and musical instruments since a very young age.    His tracks are stamped by a fusion of techno and house grooves giving him his own style and characteristic sound, he edited his first tracks back on 2013 for Someone Else and Butane’s Little Helpers, a wise move that led him to capture the attention of artists such as Troy Pierce, Miro Pajic, Marco Carola who have already been playing his productions, currently Sebastian has released over 43 tracks in label’s such as Mike Kobzar's Minim.all, Hermine Records, Doma Musique, Malicious Smiles, Krad Records, Natural Beat Recordings, etc.    This impressive session from the Argentinean artists is not different from what we have mentioned, fit this four words in your mind Groovy-Deep-Hypnotic-Mental.

French DJ and producer Okain has been collecting, spinning and producing music for 15 years. He grew up in Paris and fell head first into house and techno as an impressionable teenager. After spending countless hours listening to DJs like Laurent Garnier, he soon picked up the bug and began spinning and sculpting for himself. Now,years later, Okain finds himself as an accomplished international DJ and producer with plenty of great credits and a solid discography.
 
Okain got his first residency as a Dj in Paris when he was still in High school and never stoped playing since then. Driven by a strong desire of making his own tracks he naturally started to learn how to produce music on his own and he secured his first releases in 2007 gaining support from the key players in the scene since day one. Okain has released music on world respected labels such as Tsuba, Bpitch Control, Hypercolour, Quartz and Truesoul to name a few. He uses various alias such as his real name Samuel Thalmann, Lezar or Handycraft as his collaboration with techno artist Paul Ritch.
 
In late 2015, having learnt from the masters, the now Berliner is taking matters into his own hands with his own brand new label named Talman Records. Like all of his music to date, Talman Records is a deeply personal affair. Exclusively focusing on his own releases, Talman gives Okain even more freedom to express his deep-seeded love affair with music.
 
On the DJ side, Okains popularity continues to grow years after years, he travels the world playing at some of the most respected spots such as Panorama Bar Berlin, Fabric London or the Rex Club Paris not to mention his appearance at some of the best festivals like Awakenings in Amsterdam.

Residing in the outskirts of Frankfurt in a small town called Giessen, a journey started for a young man who is now known as the producer and DJ - F.eht. Growing up in this quiet town in the 90's he prepared for the path he was to start walking down in his late teens. Through childhood there were many sounds which stuck in Ferhat's mind and influenced him in many ways, including the sounds of soulful jazz numbers put together by Syl Johnson and many others from the USA, and a great deal of raw dusty beats and samples running through MPC's in the world of Hip Hop.

Since embarking on his journey at the age of 16, his horizon has broadened even more. On the production side, F.eht has released a catalogue of music that has received support from a lot of big names, as well as the support of other up and coming artists over recent years that have grown along side him. A number of projects have been released on his own label Samani, which was launched in early 2015.

The young German artist has also had great success in the world of gigs, playing in clubs in Europe, Russia, and other destinations across the world. With a spectrum of opportunity and talent on his side, things are sure to continue growing for F.eht.

A clean cut extract from Priku’s set at Duo N.1, this past September in the depths of Casa Quien, a sixteenth century house in the Dominican Republic, currently an art space dedicated to the development of contemporary productions. Local promoters Duo invited Priku and Arapu for an extended 12-hour party within this amazing setting. 
The Romanian artist without fail always delivers a unique blend of grooves, however this isn’t your average mix. Something very special, as it differs from the norm. A chunk from a set played out to an audience tells a completely different story, it gives you an idea of the surroundings it’s taken from and the true versatility of the mixer, something personal. Adrian takes you on a journey of tastes, hypnotic rhythms with no boundaries, allowing the listener to become totally involved. Smooth and slick as each record combined creates a whole new atmosphere.

There are plenty of DJs playing hypnotic techno, but few capture this meditative tone as well as Julia Govor. Behind the booth she plays a mix of smooth and deep cuts spanning the breadth of the genre, while her releases offer the same pensive driving quality that likely attracted Ricardo Villalobos to work on a remix for her. 

Govor’s musical background started early in her life. Growing up in Russia she was part of the military band Moryachka, and at the start of her working career she interviewed key figures in house and techno as a journalist at MTV. Once she started writing music, she made a permanent move from Berlin to New York. For a career as a DJ this might seem unorthodox, but it’s probably disconnecting from the city’s intense atmosphere that offers a big part of her inspiration. 

Once she began writing music, she relocated from Berlin to New York City, where she now lives with her husband. Moving from Berlin to a metropolis like New York might seem an unorthodox move, but as she told us, a big part of her inspiration comes from disconnecting from the city’s atmosphere. 

Before she makes her debut at the club on 25th November, we invited Govor to give us a mix and interview feature. For her mix, she sent us back an uncompromising two hour recording of hypnotic modern techno.

A set recorded from a Wednesday night residency in Sydney, at the beautiful Hive Bar in Erskineville. Two 1200s and a cheap mixer. 

Wednesday is generally a cosy night where you can play almost anything. Very mood focussed sort of stuff, starting very chilled, people eating, and getting more upbeat later on. 

It's not really mixed or tied down by tempo. Just a few big bags of records, going all over the place between funk, jazz, electronica, disco, soundtracks and oddball stuff. This isn't a connoiseur chin stroke session either, although there's quite a few rare records in there (along with some super well known ones). Quite a few reissues and compilation tracks too. 

The Hive Bar is a fun place to pop in to if you're in town. It was one of the first small bars in Sydney to really support the vinyl resurgence and give a platform for diggers to play records. Top shelf booze and food, and run by total legends. Always friendly.

On this episode we feature an outstanding back to back by two of the most prolific electronic music producers in Chile: Alejandro Vivanco & Felipe Venegas, the episode is a cut from a live performance at Complot Nights in the beautiful city of Valparaiso, Chile.

Alejandro Vivanco (@telepong) >>  was born in Viña del Mar, and since his early childhood, he developed an interest in music, as his father used to play tenor sax and owned a huge jazz records collection. At the early age of 7 years, he used to spend many hours in front of the stereo. Later, when he became a teenager, he started playing electric guitar in several school bands, influenced by the music of bands like Sonic Youth, Jesus & Mary chain and Pixies, among others.    Meanwhile, around 1996 he started to have an affinity for sound experimentation, that affinity lead him to start developing a close relationship with machines, and conduced him to create his solo project called Telepong, a project that had a strong influence from the sounds of Detroit and Acid House. As he walked the path of electronic music, he got attracted to the emerging Chilean electronic scene and made him take a step ahead to turntables. That pavemented his career as a DJ and in 2001 earned him a residency in “Club La Feria” Chile’s battle horse Club, and where he still plays. In terms of his music style, he define’s it in simple words as "precise rythms with radical sound contrasts and evolving rich grooves.” 

Felipe Venegas (@felipevenegas) >>> studied classical and theory at the conservatory in Santiago (Chile) and we're awfully glad he did since his scholarly days he's ventured into more electronic realms, retaining a rhythmic, percussive feel that we just love. But as happen most of the time his true musical education took place outside the classroom, in clubs where the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano and Dandy Jack, were creating a new culture of sound.

Felipe spent his weeks studying Beethoven, Bach and Ravel, but at the weekends he escaped to the underground electronic music scene, soaking up the spirit of techno, house and acid. Before that, he learned the essential relationship between music and movement from his dancer father, who taught him the timeless rhythms of salsa and rumba.      In a very short time, Felipe cemented a reputation as one of Chile’s finest DJs and producers, he is also the guy behind @drumma-records .

Distrikt was already one of the top sound camps in BRC almost a decade ago & a place I’ve spent many an hour kicking up the dust with friends over the years. It was therefore of course an honor & a privilege to play at Distrikt this year where I played from 3pm - 4:30pm on the Thursday afternoon. With the crowd just starting to build before I went on I decided to drop the energy back a little to establish a solid groove and start the fun journey that would build the vibes appropriately for all that was to follow that afternoon. I hope you enjoy this musical journey as much as I did. What an amazing day that was.
