Tehran, Iran native Khashaya Pouryamin, also know as “Fedor K’ has been surrounded by music since the young age of 12. He started off first with playing the guitar and by 17, he began playing in several underground rock bands where he perfected his skill with the bass guitar as his main instrument. Over the years, Fedor continued to play the piano and even began writing his own music and songs . Shortly after, he was introduced to the sounds of electronic music. After 2 years of being fully immersed in the genre he was rapidly growing to love, he produced remixes and original songs that were supported by some of the top artists around the world including Maceo Plex and Loco Dice. By 2012, Fedor began releasing music on several different labels from several different countries and received very high praise from fans around the world. 
As of 2014, Fedor K continues to release his talented sound with his newest EP on its way and has now become the latest resident for Vancouver, Canada’s up and coming music label / events company, You Plus One. His obvious talent for music and productions promises a very exciting break through into the North American music scene and You Plus One is very proud to call him one of our own.

For this edition of the Playground, we venture down south to Buenos Aires to meet up with one of our cult favorites, Ricky Ryan. Ryan has been an industry taste maker within the underground house scene for the better part of a decade. Both his labels (Sick Watona & Avangardia) are regular sources of pristine deep house and deep progressive cuts that can work into any jocks magical collection of music. Anyone that notoriously follows the current of trends that ripple through the underground on a regular basis have no doubt come across his work at some capacity. Ryan also has a notable residency at Buenos Aires' Gurubox where he brings impeccable talent to rock with him at this monthly ritual. We highly recommend getting yourself acquainted with this master of the craft as we regard him as one of the best. Welcome to the Park. <3

The I am Frost Project – To create a project that goes beyond the boundaries of music, that was the goal with which René Frost began his I am Frost project in 2013. I am Frost combines music, video and words into a multimedia work of art that appeals to the eyes, ears and mind in equal measure. The story behind his new EP "No Way Out" follows on seamlessly from the previous EP - "The Path to Cognition" - and can be understood as a second chapter in this story, with the third chapter awaiting in winter 2014. The "No Way Out" EP by I am Frost, feat. Tinush remix, will be released on Vergissmeinnicht on 1 August.

biography:

Peace, love &amp; happiness. These three words best describe the feeling that is created when I am Frost performs at clubs and festivals. I am Frost – is the stage name of German producer René Frost. René was born in 1987 in the German village of Feldberg in and currently lives in the capital of techno, Berlin. It was at Fusion Festival where René first experienced that magic moment that infected him with a passion for electronic music. In 2009 he left his village to study music production at the SAE Institute in Berlin and soon became part of the globally active artist collective Vergissmeinnicht. Since 2005 René has been practicing his trade as a DJ and has since rocked countless parties in the German-speaking area. He has played at clubs &amp; festivals such as 3000° Festival, M.I.K.Z., Docks, Kiste Baden, Suicide Circus, Café Gold, MS Stubnitz, MAGDAlena and others. In 2013 I am Frost re-launched himself with a new name, a new concept and an elaborate live and visual show to bring open-air vibes to even the darkest of cellars. In summer 2013 he released his first single: a remix of Zio’s “Sag wenigstens Tschüss”, which also made it onto Zio’s album and was released by Berlheim Media Group. In December 2013 he released his debut EP – The Path to Cognition feat. Robin Schulz Remix. Robin’s remix reached more than a quarter of a million plays and was presented to a bigger public for the first time. In April 2014 he released the song Noom on the first Jannowitz Records compilation with Nico Pusch, Toni Rios, Patty Kay and others. Recently he recorded his second EP – No Way Out and invited the German producer Tinush to make a remix. From 1 August you'll be able to hear, see &amp; read the result of this work.

On this episode we feature a exclusive session from Czech Republic’s Jag Kiranmay (@jagkiranmay). He has been playing in major events since 2001 and contributing with finely crafted releases through the London based imprint Seva Records.   Sonically speaking, he is hard to pin down. The influences of Jag’s diverse career can be easily heard throughout his releases on the In-House label. Jumping from genres such as funky, vocal and tech-house to ambient and chill out, each track highlights his ability to adapt to different areas.   Certainly he is a fan of contrasting styles, Jag claims that he avoids ‘classifying’ music – as he likes to sum it up concisely, “what’s good is good”.
