To celebrate Grid 2nd anniversary, we gathered together thirteen earth-shattering tracks from the bass scene’s most promising creators, all aimed to move you in the most primordial way. Evoking images of vast landscapes and deep underground catacombs.

This compilation takes the listener deep into the earth with twisted percussion workouts from the likes of Jabes, Piezo, Ronan and Sister Zo… and back into the light with serene compositions from E-unity, Tammo Hesselink and A Psychic Yes, whilst Jay Duncan, Basile3 y Clara!, Jonny From Space, Flaty, Seekersinternational, and blu-e join the dots with their genre-defying creations.

As was the case with Grid’s previous compilations 'Improvisations' and 'Da Capo Al Coda', the label once again puts its stamp on a moment in the underground by collecting together productions of the highest quality that push the boundaries but undeniably make you want to move.

Keplrr's creative process delves into the profound, seeking to encapsulate the sensation of falling or morphing, blurring the lines between reality and reverie. His aim is to transport listeners to a state somewhere between a dream and a trip, where the boundaries of perception dissolve, and the subconscious takes flight. This EP embodies that quest, each track a sonic voyage into the depths of consciousness.

London producer Keplrr https://soundcloud.com/keplrr debuts on Midgar with 'Plumes'. Known for his productions on trendsetting outlets like Control Freak Recordings and Pressure Dome where he showed his excellent take on forward thinking broken techno music, right here for Midgar he uses a more straight forward approach with two versions of title track 'Plumes'. The original is a subtle, percussive and playful techno groover, where the 'Meditation Mix' flips this impeccable groove into an airy atmospheric after-house mood. Second track 'Pulse' continues on this breezy atmosphere, it's a floaty eyes-closed deep trip, with carefully arranged drums creating the perfect breakdown. Keplrr's creative process delves into the profound, seeking to encapsulate the sensation of falling or morphing, blurring the lines between reality and reverie. It were as if he couldn't find his grip as the world spun recklessly all around him. All he wished was that he might find something to cling on to which might cement him to the ground and bring him back to reality. Instead everything was blurry and his grip, non existent. Old butter hands was out for the night and there was no stopping the ride...

He wandered between the people and the places, the faces and the strangers, the dancers and the wanderers lost within the midst of the night. For they too had lost their grip. We all had really, the world was a big buttery pool within which we all swam beneath the cloak of darkness.

Tammo Hesselink delivers a technical masterclass on a new EP for Scottish label Redstone Press. Deep, pensive electronic textures with tones for the heads.

The second release on GRACE comes courtesy of @keplrr. Following Katiusha’s EP in spring, ‘False Awakening’ extends the label’s vision for mind-blurring techno flavours.

The UK artist showcased his ear for unusual ceremonial techno on his recent ‘Plumes’ record for Midgar. On GRACE002, Keplrr goes deeper into that style. What’s now becoming his signature psychedelic elegance unfurls over two 8-minute journeys, run through with hallucinatory ebbs and flows.
