This is a track I created using only sounds from my up and coming patch collection for Spectrasonics Omnisphere, titled Heatseeker. Drums not included.

While toying around with a vocoder, I wrote this quick little tune to help bring a little light into the darkness that some feel this time of year.

When all the clouds shut out the gleaming stars and moon
And all the light is stolen away
And when your tears fall like fragile snow

Blackening the sky devoid of mercy in its eye, it cast the spawn.

In a flash it stole away the hillside where I used to pray for calm. 
Memories of childhood dreams, the pictures that I long to see are gone.

Anger stirs inside of me, the embers of their mockery prolong.
Instead of casting blame and cursing politician's names I write this song.

Michael (MIDIhead) Babbitt is a Los Angeles-based electronic music writer, remixer, producer, vocalist, and DJ. From the age of 8, he knew what he wanted to do. It was then that he first recognized music's cognitive and spiritual power, and envisioned a day where he would create it. At the age of 14 he began his musical endeavors as a DJ for a local radio station by day, and as a mobile DJ by night after finding professionals willing to train him on these crafts. By age 18 he was spinning vinyl at a popular local night club in his home town. But spinning other people's music wasn't his dream, so he fronted a band that eventually led him to perform for thousands.

Michael was awarded "Best Album of 2001" for his debut solo album "Power Undiminished" at The American Synthpop Awards in Hollywood. It was front man Kurt Harland from the 80's band Information Society who presented him with the award. After moving to Los Angeles, Michael shifted his role in music production to focus on media. His first track was heard in Fox's "Dark Angel", followed by landing a "Matrix Reloaded" movie trailer which opened up the floodgates for other television shows such as "Access Hollywood", "Dexter", "CSI" series, "America's Next Top Model", and "Prison Break", among others. His high energy remixes and original music has also been featured in Konami's popular Dance, Dance, Revolution video game series.

Michael has has recorded with artists Shane Gibson (Korn), Peter DiStefano (Porno For Pyros), and worked with Grammy nominated DJ: Kaskade, as well as Kaskade's side-project Late Night Alumni.

Michael's latest endeavors have him designing patches for Spectrasonics Omnisphere, distributed exclusively by ILIO. He has received critical acclaim for his patches by industry professionals and hit-making artists! Check out his sounds at: www.ilio.com/patches
