A techno shift, Midnight Shift’s third release sees Recondite on his upward trajectory pair up with the relatively reserved Julien H Mulder. Both outputs possess a stripped down aesthetic, but while the former revels in the straight and shiny, the latter brings a touch of lightness and play. A tightly packed, hardworking 4-track EP that will serve the many moods of a DJ well.

Formerly from Bavaria and now based in Berlin, Recondite crafts ‘Borderline’, a track that broods in shimmery afterdark punch, such as with the last bright rays of an inevitably waning sun. ‘Stomper’ does not have to go on too long to make a point. It is a moody, melancholic, almost lovesick trudge topped off with restless hi hats. Accomplished in ambient space music, Julien H Mulder has been producing music since the 90s. To him, simplicity is best. The Stockholm resident’s ‘Won’t Say Nothing’ is a lightly drenched sigh paired with broken beat while ‘Old Rutins’ is a bassline-led kicker soon to run amok in dancefloors. They hint at what is to come with his forthcoming full EP on Midnight Shift.

@keinkontrast is a project of passion out of love for the beat. The focus of his musical compositions is on a deep, hypnotic sound space, surrounded by a fascinating, experimentally created atmosphere that offers space for our mind. Like music and art, the love of nature is a common language that can overcome borders. In music but also in nature there are energies, frequencies, resonances and vibrations. This creates feelings that guide us, and quite individually. It is difficult to understand or put into words. It is a process of the subconscious. Through his mix, he wants to offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in a world in which you briefly lose space and time to be simple and briefly experience the feeling of lightheartedness.

I'm Aül.

Aül, a ten years long artistic project, passionate about Electronic music when he was teenager Aül starts performing in his hometown, distinguishing himself from other Dj's for taste and selection, the main purpose was to leave the mark with his sound in every set. In 2014 he began producing Electronic and Techno music, being influenced by artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Solomun, Jon Hopkins, Kölsch, and other artists of the genre, Aül began to produce his music in a personal style, combining the 80s sounds through synthesisers and then connecting them with drums and techno grooves, thus creating a dynamic and dreamy mix.
