One of Detroit’s finest exports is legendary house and techno pioneer, Gari Romalis, and as we enter what could potentially be a summer of love he creates an outstanding four track EP, “Black Traxx Matter”, spreading a message which scratches way below the surface, using music as a tool to share. The body of work spans across distinctive and slinky deep house energy, oozing class and emotion, notably what we have all come to love and adore in Romalis’ back catalogue. Opener “Black 2 Da Future” rides an effortlessly cool groove, brushing by in the summer breeze, paying homage to brighter days. Next up is “Black Diamondz (Africa Mix)”, consisting of a tight and punchy drum arrangement, and warm and infectious sub bass. Welcoming you with open arms.

“Black Luv” is lighter on its feet than the previous tracks, a definite housey spring in its step, all of the elements conversing in sweet harmony. A cruise down nostalgia lane. “Purpose Reprise (Motivate Mix)” closes this wonderful EP. Six and a half minutes of pure bliss which shifts into a pure and powerful moment when a spoken word sample enters the room, as the soft keys work their way around the message.

A masterpiece body of work from one of the most esteemed artists in the game. The Nicepeople label keep continuing to propel high quality sounds from new and established artists, with a healthy schedule already pencilled in for 2021.

This year it’s all about new amazing artists on Dirt Crew Recordings and Idan Hana is no exception! We are very pleased to welcome him with his first EP on our label. Based in Los Angeles he has been involved in the music industry for over 20 years as a DJ and music producer. Also, he is the co-founder of the leading music institute BPM College. His music is rooted firmly in Deep House with classic feels, soft and gentle melodies, warm synths, and drums with a whole lot of groove.

The opener “Stam” is a lush dance floor burner that Idan co-wrote with Berlin’s “Black Loops” who for most of us needs no further introduction as he is a master of energising drum patterns and floor moving percussion. The second tune on this EP is the dusty “Peanut Crunch”, lots of jazz and playful elements make this one a personal fave for us, especially the fun vocal drops.

The second part of the EP starts with the Electro jam “Scale 4”. Reflecting another side of Idan’s musical world, more analogue and open, it works as a great break in the story of the EP and proper lead up to the last two tracks on here that are special as well. The electronic journey that is “HWLM”, more of an interlude opening up the airwaves and ears for that deep “ecstasy” pads laden beauty “Lo Fi Hi”, very much reminiscent of mid 90s House anthems, we couldn’t think of a better end to an EP than this great track. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Spaghetti Club kickstarts 2022 with a various artist four tracker that covers several moods to spoil the dance floor at the right time. With tracks from label head Pierre Codarn, Philipp Boss, Jealous Lover and Harry Wills, the V/A is musically as diverse as it can still remaining true to one vibe that can be found in each of the tracks. Starting things with a bang, it’s Harry Wills track Longbags that is to be found on the A1. The artist’s almost trademark heavy bass line is enriched with partly electro-sounding accentuated chords that hit as strong as the before mentioned sub frequencies and therefore not only carrying the listeners over the floor but most likely tie them right onto it.
