Making his debut on Sarah Wild’s Midnight Operators is @etcha-1. The Dutch born/ Berlin based producer delivers three dance floor tools for different timings and a mental rave rework by Italian stallion Younger Than Me.
‘Four the Trance’ is an ode to the hectic cycling of late 90s Tour de Frances, where doping and heroic battles dominated the head over heals racing without helmets. A straight beat underpinned by a meaty bass line, a cacophony of bleeps & blops and synth lines that seems to be blown away by strong headwinds.
Gearing things into a contrasting direction is ‘Modem Handshake’. A synthetic electro roller incorporating the dial up sound of an internet modem. Common occurrence in the early years of consumer computers and a sound of a world turning digital. But also a sound of making human connection possible through cybernetic means. Could this sound have a deeper sense for the longing of being connected?
The trippy ’Sumatra Cerebral’ is based around the recordings of birds that are endemic to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The track is about blurring the lines between what is synthetic and what is natural. Taking into question how mankind has influenced the natural world’s communication? Made in pandemic times (where travel was almost impossible). The track conveys the longing for tropical exoticism to a place that has not been visited. Just like anemoia is the nostalgia for non-personally known times.
Rounding off the EP is ‘Sumatra Cerebral (Younger Than Me ‘Mental Rave’ Remix)’. An uptempo future rave track with a simple & effective bass line that utilises the original samples, encapsulating the listener in a mix of natural and synthetic. It strikes a delicate tension between confusion and propulsion but remains mentally uplifting.

So I left home the other night – bad vibes, negative energy. Trying to shift my focus back to something positive, I decided to return to the studio. I already had a little setup prepared and wanted to record a new mix anyway… then this happened:

Out of the blue, after about 20 minutes of checking some tunes I wanted to include (I definitely wanted Ernestos / Jonatan Bäckelie’s latest gem in there), the whole thing just took off. I hadn’t prepared all the tracks or checked the transitions beforehand – it was just a rough pool of tracks that jumped out at me that night and somehow caught its spirit.

It’s probably not my tightest mix in terms of perfect sync or harmonic layering, but it feels like one of the mixes that goes deeper into myself, my soul, my world. Without planning it, I ended up picking tunes by artists I’m happy to know or at least to have met in life, on or off stage. I remember that radio show with Robert Owens in Frankfurt, the nights with Luke & Jamie (Jimpster) in Frankfurt and Madrid, and of course our Motorcitysoul collab with Jonatan aka Ernesto.

The 2011 Deetron tune was (and still is) one of my signature tracks this summer. At first I didn’t want to include it – felt too obvious. But this slammer literally forced its way into the mix on the fly. The tune convinced me to take it along for the journey. Thanx, Sam (Deetron)!

So here we go… a short journey and fusion of house, techno, soul, and a touch of jazz. One hour of a very special mix. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

This set was recorded on August 1, 2025 in Veggli, Norway.

Inspired by the landscape that surrounded us that weekend, I wanted to experiment with different textures and layers, creating a soundscape that reflects both the space and the feeling of being fully immersed in it.

I also played around with some new influences and sounds I’ve been drawn to lately, weaving them together to capture the spirit of this unique moment and place.

This set is a reflection of that experience :) moving between softness and intensity, stillness and motion — like walking through shifting light and shadow in the wild.

Chapter nine of the unframed cast. This time with @sereeene – a Vienna-based selector and producer with roots in the Eastern Bloc, channeling the raw pulse of her heritage’s club culture into a sound that’s both stripped-back and fiercely charged.

Her sets fuse minimal house frameworks with heavy-hitting basslines, warped acid flashes and sharp electro edges – always high energy, always deep groove. Hybrid by nature, she blends vinyl and digital into journeys that are hypnotic, driving and deeply physical.

Best enjoyed when the lights dim and the volume just a little too high.

ich habe mich dazu entschieden, das Set vom Moyn doch noch zu re-recorden (Diskotheka Sa-So 2-4 Uhr). Es war für mich einfach so ein schöner Gig, die Stimmung auf dem Floor war mega und dann dazu noch zig gute Freunde um mich herum, besser gehts nicht :) Tatsächlich war das mein erster richtiger Festival Gig Nachts und besser hätte es nicht sein können. Noch dazu verkörpert das Set meinen aktuellen Musikgeschmak relativ on point. Danke an alle Tanzmausis und viel Spaß mit dem Set <3

Known for tight, percussive grooves at the crossroads of minimal, house and tech-house, his tracks have landed on labels like @dirtyhandsrec, @golden-gate-club-records and @zappedrecords. Behind the decks, he’s played iconic Berlin spots like Kater Blau, Golden Gate and Renate, as well as Zürich’s Friedas Büxe and Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire.

As a key part of the Zapped Collective and A&R for Zapped Records, he’s been shaping a sound that feels fresh and forward-looking.

For this edition: a vinyl-only set – raw and unfiltered.
