Rufio is dedicated to Darren ‘Rufio’ Joliny. Darren was charismatic, handsome, hilarious and he’s sorely missed. He took his nickname ‘Rufio’ from the cinematic classic Hook, a childhood favourite!

This tune is an attempt to capture Darrens infectious spirit with the first section a nostalgic trip back to being a teenager, hanging around in various East Kilbride parks and tunnels. The second, more raucous, section is a homage to our times spent partying, cooking food and these two contrasting sections combined are about celebrating the joy of friendship. 

There’s a memorial football match every year in my home town for him but as I can’t kick a ball to save my life, this one’s for him.
