Rooted in the underground mentality of the 90s, the whole thing is quite evocative, grabbing hold of a euphoric funk sound and transporting it into the 2020s with a modern, high-tempo pulse. In blending the raw, pumping energy of warehouse techno with the glimmer of disco cabaret, the Bay Area native takes a refreshing tangent on dancefloor tools which render themselves distinct from his contemporaries in the space.

Zero Idea describes Xpressions as a deeply personal journey— “each track, mood and sonic idea is a dance floor representation of significant life events that shaped my adult years”. The album lands as a maturation of both musical composition and personal character for the artist.

From the atmosphere building intro in “Foreword”, to the uptempo soul of “Seventh Heaven”, and the high voltage intensity of “Overload”, the album delivers a carefully contained and diligently paced listening experience, where the vivacity of the tracks is at no point overwhelming, and yet the energy never fails to deliver. Standout moments include title track “Xpression”, a relentless, straight-to-the-point tech-funk heater which perfectly showcases the Zero Idea ethos, as well as ‘Epiphany’ with its blissful blend of deep melodies and driving beats which encapsulate the album’s emotional depth.

As I put together my live set, I needed to remix this,  one of my first tracks from 2023. My production skills have improved since the original release and this is shorter and punchier. 

Uplifting trance anthem transformed by a catchy vocal hook that sounds like it was lifted from 70's folk music. The track was inspired by driving 600 miles every weekend to be with my young daughter when we blasted out 90's trance music and I was powered by caffeine. 132 bpm

This mix was recorded on the beach in Detroit after a late night / early morning with the people I love the most. Was in Amsterdam last week for 909 fest and was blown away, Movement Festival in Detroit 3 weeks ago left me inspired and started a new chapter. This mix is for all of your summer adventures, preparation, drives, kick backs, train rides, and time with those you love the most. I thank God for the community I am blessed to be a part of, you're all so brilliant, Tschau bebis, Mike Candor.

Ludivine, by her first name, is a recent DJ born and raised near Paris, where electronic music has always been a part of her life. From a young age, she was influenced by giants like Daft Punk, who marked her entry into the world of electronic music. 

It was in 2014, at the age of 18, that she began frequenting clubs and exploring the warehouse scene. She remembers the golden age of these secret places, where each weekend was a new adventure, a new place to discover, a royal experience that made her fall in love with the scene. 

It was in 2017 that Ludivine decided to seriously get into techno, finding her place in this universe to this day. 

Alongside her career as a DJ, which she is just beginning, she works as a community manager and is passionate about creating videos and montages, thus exploring several facets of the digital world and events, but always in techno. 

But she doesn't hesitate to explore other sounds, especially bounce, depending on her mood and the atmosphere she wants to create. 

Whether for a sensual evening or an energetic set, Ludivine knows how to adapt and immerse her audience in a unique musical experience.
