So here is my first full blown podcast, I think It's a good example of my taste and what I am about, I managed to squeeze in an interview with a good friend Micah Black (From Black & Blunt) while he was in the UK although I had had a few drinks so it was a bit sloppy to say the least (I will work on my interviewing techniques ;-) 

I intend to do these Podcasts as regular as I can and although it doesn't sound it it really was a fair bit of work, but I did enjoy doing it and I have already started the next one.

It's not often you get to throw a proper party at your own place. 

Forcefields was exactly that - an invite-only weekend on my little farm tucked away in the South East (UK) far away from the madding crowds.

This year, post-Burning Man re-entry has been harder than ever before, so burying myself in 18-hours a day graft to make this happen in a way I'd be happy with was the perfect way to ameliorate my way back to the default world.

Everyone who came was perfectly respectful, and most people participated, contributed and thoroughly enjoyed the unique nature of the event. Those who were able, helped create a truly magical kingdom for the night, and it's certainly one I'll never forget, regardless of how long I find myself living in this place.

My set that night began deep as darkness fell, and as the bar emptied, I rather surprised myself by rocking out for the last hour. Most unexpected ... but that's the beauty of DJ'ing, right?

Meat Katie 'Lowering The Tone' Episode 2 (With Dylan Rhymes Interview)

This summer I had a host of high profile UK & European Festivals and spent 3-4 weeks of solid studio time beforehand, tweaking and enhancing each & every track I played for maximum muscle. I re-edited and Revamped a total of 160 tracks during the process.

And then I went out and SMASHED it :)

Hope you enjoy this recording of my headline set from the wonderful Wickerman Festival in Scotland on a weekend where I also played Kendal Calling and Secret Garden Party before collapsing in a heap on Monday morning at 3am.

Having shared stages with names like Bonobo, Aim, The Bays and Giles Peterson it’s about time Outlook got this interesting Scottish Band down.
Combing jazz with cinematic emotions the four piece band draw influence from Radiohead, Madlib, Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. As well as two live drummers the band trigger live samples and use live instrumentation on Cello and Brass. Their debut album ‘Night Walks’ was funded by the Scottish Arts Council and features guest appearances from distinguished Scottish musicians. Released on Brighton based label Tru Thoughts, ‘Night Walks’ shows off energetic originality unlike any other band.

Back in 1989-91 I was working extensively out of Amazon Studios in Kirby, Liverpool, producing and mixing the Ruthless Rap Assassins, as well as Mind Body & Soul and Sensuround. Also using the studios during this period were Liverpool dance collective 8 Productions, consisting of Ian Martin Wright, Steve Cummerson, Pete Davies and, of course, Peter Coyle, formely of the Lotus Eaters, who’d scored a UK hit in 1983 with ‘The First Picture Of You’. We became friendly as a result, and would often play each other our works in progress – it was certainly something of a mutual appreciation society.

‘Sly One’ was their jewel in the crown – recorded with singer Marina Van-Rooy, it quickly became a cult classic and was snapped up by Haçienda DJ Mike Pickering, who was then head of A&R at Deconstruction, for a full release on the label, although the chart success we all presumed would follow failed to materialise.

8 would also issue tracks by artists including The Donny And Marie Handbag Revolution and Connie Lush, but their greatest triumph was the club night G-Love, which was the early 90’s forerunner to Cream, promoted in conjunction with the local record store 3 Beat and legendary Liverpool DJ John Kelly.
