A pastiche, inspired by Joaquín Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez," a work that made me fall in love with classical music at a very young age. I subtitle it "Joy of Discovery" as it sounds like my memories of playing in fields of wildflowers as a young child. The meter is a fast 5/4, structured as a 3/4 + 2/4 polymeter. The form is ABA with coda. The harmony is fairly standard. Soli deo gloria.

During the latter part of the summer of Covid, I hadn't really felt like composing. I was tinkering on the piano and this little melody appeared and grew organically from there.
