Viola concerto in 4 movements- it was written about the effects of war and displacement and rebuilding.
Movement 1- based on an Albanian folk tune roughly translates to English as “the village is burning” followed by a section depicting the machine of war crushing the village
Movement 2- interlude- the stillness after violence.
Movement3- Mourning- the process of mourning and how often we weep and cry and still hold on to our sadness and sometimes savor the bittersweet.
Movement 4- rebuilding- an energetic movement about rebuilding and creating a new life.

This is the first movement my third viola concerto- this movement is subtitiled "Flaka Mbuloi Fshane" and is partly based on an Albanian folk tune. The English translation is roughly "The flames engulfed the village."
