Aeyem who’s a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Melbourne, Australia. He is also a talented DJ who performs regularly at festivals and other large events in his home country, but this is his first official release.
The solo original “Reach the Water” also features the vocals of Lakyn whose emotive singing style pulls on the heart strings, while the melodic house/techno backing track provides a deep and pulsating groove similar to the likes of Innellea and Ben Böhmer.

German duo Super Flu deliver a stunning remix true to the immersive style they have released on record labels ranging from Diynamic and Stil Vor Talent to their own imprint Monaberry. Known for their quirky melodies and epic atmosphere underpinned by vibrant percussion, their remix on this release is another fine example of their distinctive style.

“Reach The Water” Feat. Lakyn opens with spine-tingling ethereal pads that are soon joined by the pulsating bassline which radiates warmth through the tracks. An early breakdown section introduces the sensual vocals that become the tracks defining element. Wonky and wonderful the groove is pushed forward by the pounding of the kick drum and washes in the liquid textures that add to the track’s immersive vibe.

Super Flu step up on remix duty, and their version is a deep and dirty re-tweak, utilising the original elements, but adding Super Flu's hallmark dirty and infectious flavours. Wobbly edges meet the warmth, as a gated synth line takes control, while the vocal glides effortlessly, befire the twittery riff really takes control. Big and bold!

Deep, brooding, and capable of doing some real dancefloor damage, “I Wanna Know” blends nostalgic progressive house elements with a contemporary bass-driven approach, complete with compelling vocals from Eli & Fur.

B-side “Revolutions” is again built around a beefy bass groove, accompanied by mystical melodies and stripped back percussion, allowing the low-end progression to build through to the finale.

THE CONCEPT BEHIND POLYMATH:

Every artist has their own perspective, imagination, style and inspirations. They share this with the world through their creations and performances, their own musical concepts. Each concept is unique, as is every performance.

Polymath can be defined as ‘many talents’. The Polymath concept will ask different artists to create pieces inspired by their perception of a singular theme. This concept gives artists the freedom to share their own visions on a given notion, to push and stretch their boundaries of creativity, and to present inspired tracks and artwork.

Each Polymath release is an experiment. It will include three different artists’ pieces inspired by the same theme. This is tied together with ornate artwork to complete the bespoke showpiece.

Jack Dixon follows a string of critically acclaimed releases for Apollo (R&S), Take and Losing Suki (Hypercolour) with his debut outing for Hotflush. Influenced by the sparse atmospherics of Wolfgang Voigt, the playful intricacy of Autechre beats and the off-kilter grooves of UK garage, the Berlin-based producer is unconstrained by genre or place, pioneering a modern, progressive sound that’s already garnered him a glowing reputation.
 
In turns colourful, ambient, melodic and driving, his new EP feels right at home on Scuba’s label. Beginning with a deceptively clean and minimal rhythm, ‘E’ slowly gives way to lush glacial drones, skittering beats and huge euphoric drops to form a bold production that sits somewhere between the early morning techno dancefloors of Berlin and the murky sweatbox raves of late-night South London.
 
On the flip, he delivers the soulfully taut ‘Find Shelter’. Warped vocals weave in and out of an insistent, jazzy house groove, backed by a tapestry of glitches, vinyl crackle and live drum flourishes. It all leads to one of the most delirious and ecstatic drops you’ll hear this year.
