This makes me think of bartending. There was always someone wanting to tell me their life stiory and I just listen.  This is a great little ditty and I like the conversational feel of it. 

That first verse is soooo true. Dig your lead work

gritty and earthy track - feeling dylan a little but on a total country western tip.  the story you tell is vividly laid out and engaging.  each line kinda keeping you hanging on for the resolution in the one coming next. loving the soloing man - thats a great feature!  a lot of relatable sentiment in here too.

I tried to force it so many times

what a nice couplet, but it's not true

I tried to fix it, tumbling hard against my chest
polish the edges so that it hurts a little less
