Jiro’s music selections provided the soundtrack to our most recent campaign shoot, which happened to be loosely inspired by a trip down the Camino Real (the historical trade route which runs 600 miles across Texas). So naturally we were delighted when he agreed to do us an exclusive mix inspired by road trips of years gone by and here it is…. Stan Radio 42.

Jiro Bevis is a graphic artist living and working in London, England. His work is influenced by his love of popular culture and is identified by its use of bold lines and vivid colours with a playful and irreverent style. As well as drawing, Jiro also occasionally DJs, having had his radio show, Radio Jiro on NTS Radio for over a decade. The shows are an eclectic mix ranging from Japanese Techno Pop, Belgian New Beat, Italo Disco, soft rocks, Krautrock and more.

My radio show is often quite upbeat but for this mix I've decided to make a more mellow one, filled with lush 70s (couple of 60s & 80s tracks too) laid back soft rock summer sounds. Perfect listening to a relaxing trip.

Despite missing the last two and a half hours we still managed to record a good bit of our all night b2b2b2b2b2b session for AUF LEIWAND at Celeste on 9.11.2024 with Alaska Al, Heap, Julian, Luziprak, Marc Graebnor and myself playing only Austrian tunes all night. In its slightly chaotic amateurishness, i think its a great representation of the giant potpourri that is the more obscure side of Austrian pop and dance music history of the latter part of the last century ;)
