Freeform Bass Music

Michigan based artist Mayple, aka Jaemes Chouinard, has quickly become a known name in the freeform bass community. His ability to create lush atmospheres while still delivering hard hitting basses and frequency bending subs is what elevates his project to the next level. He takes inspiration from a multitude of artists spanning genres of 140 and halftime to create his own style of funky, melodic, and groovy bass tracks.

For the last few years he has had releases with labels like Aspire Higher, Hemi.Wav, No Hype Music, and Make Wavs, and is quickly gaining support from numerous larger artists. He has played direct support for heavy-hitters Saturna, Artifakts, ATYYA, Thought Process, Potions and more, and has played festivals from Michigan to Colorado. With a handful of EP's, and numerous originals, flips, and bootlegs already released, it's safe to say that Mayple is the one to watch.

Bio:
Father Figure is the genre-bending brainchild of producer/DJ/vocalist Matt Weishaupt (aka Matty Dubz), launched in 2017 and transformed into a formidable duo in 2022 with the addition of longtime live collaborator Matt McLaren. 

Based in Albany, NY, the duo draws deep from the soul of Golden Era NY hip-hop—think J Dilla, DJ Premier, Pete Rock—while branching into the lush textures of electronic music and the improvisational spirit of the jam scene. The result? A sonic experience that’s both nostalgic and boundary-pushing.

From gritty, bassy boom-bap beats to expansive, immersive soundscapes, their music is a living collage—always evolving, always vibing.

Father Figure has lit up stages at premier festivals including Elements Music & Arts Festival, Camp Bisco, Dreamscape, Fire Lights, Karnival of the Arts, Big Dub, and NY Harvest Fest, among many others. They’ve supported a wide range of artists such as Pretty Lights, CloZee, Manic Focus, Michal Menert, Maddy O’Neal, Saxsquatch, Of The Trees, SoDown, Tripp St. and Marvel Years, bringing their unique blend of head-nodding grooves and electronic energy to every crowd they touch.
