Now dragons may be hard to find
Those knights of old have done their worst
Perhaps they’re in some smoky cave 
Sleeping deep within the earth
Now those who wish for derring do
Well they will have to look anew
P’haps catching tides, surfing waves or flying through the air

They want to be a hero
They want to be the one
Whose names is on the lips of men
An hour in the sun
But harbour lights are burning bright
And I’ll be home with you tonight
Don’t want to fight for what seems right over some imagined cause
Don’t want to be anyone else’s hero, but yours.

There’s those who sailed away to sea
In search of fortune and of fame
Who found some far untrodden land
And gave the land their name
Now there’s no undiscovered place
Where dint of man you’ll find no trace
Except perhaps inside your heart
That’s where I’ll play my part

The works of man shall turn to dust

Disquiet0697 - Sunday Morning Gardening

The Assignment: Record the first third of a trio.

Please note: While this project is the start of a three-part sequence that will unfold over the course of three consecutive weeks, you can participate in any or all three of those parts. 

Step 1: This week’s Junto project is the first in a sequence intended to encourage and reward collaboration. You will be recording something with the understanding that it will remain unfinished for the time being. Your part will be done, but more will happen. Read on.

Step 2: The plan is for you to record a short and original piece of music using any instrumentation of your choice. Conceive the piece as something that leaves room for something else — other instruments, other people — to join in. (Keep in mind that your piece resulting from this week’s project will be panned to the left in the second and third weeks of this sequence.)

Step 3: Record a short piece of music, roughly two to three minutes in length, as described in Step 2. 

Step 4: This is important: be sure to make your track downloadable because it may be used by someone else in the next Disquiet Junto project, and the one after that.

Second Third on the RIght! (disquiet0698) CJ McGregor x Torpid Scorpion

mikey_a is an ambient and soundscape artist living in Melbourne, Australia.
Though now producing mainly in the box with a mix of VST and field recordings he still likes to occasionally crank out some of the physical treasures he's owned since the '80s: a Korg MonoPoly, a Roland TR-606, TB-303, S-10 and D-110 along with a TEAC 3440 reel-to-reel.
