Paral·lel Festival has curated a musical selection based largely on uniqueness, promoting differentiated and disruptive musical paradigms. DJs from the international scene will explore experimental, ambient, and techno musical aesthetics over the course of 3 days on a single stage. Each performance will organically link the previous and subsequent performance, forming a narrative that weaves through a balanced day-and-night program.

An inspiring environment, precise musical selection, and the comfort of our attendees are the three utmost central axes for our organization team. We aim to offer a novel and fulfilling experience for music lovers with our distinct and purposeful program.

Justin is a Melbourne based artist. With a background in visual art, he approached music with a sense of experimentation and utter naivety. Starting on a 4-track cassette recorder, the limitations of the form opened many possibilities for playing at the edges. With keyboard sounds, effects pedals, voice as an instrument and never really knowing what was going to come out when the red record button was hit, nor having a guide of what was on the other tracks, a sense of risk and surprise were a constant part of the process. Like the sketches, many bleak existential terrains came out, no matter what the mood of the moment. And sometimes a pleasant surprise with the happy accidents. These are lo-fi soundscapes, complete with tape hiss, that evoke deep and wordless existential states. There's room to breathe in them and feel your own reaction to them. They are first takes of whatever fell out when the red recording light was on.
