Team AEON is thrilled to announce the 5th edition of the Lost Tapes series where music of family members and newbies come together in one release.
The compilation will be released in 2 parts. As a subscriber and family member, you’ll get the full VA compilation including all 13 tracks in advance, exclusively!

Part 1:
We kick off the first part with a special: Italian artist Fabrizio Mammarella (one half of Black Spuma - with Lauer), who’s also well known for his skills as a remixer, releases his first solo track „Compumemory“ on AEON.
The young gun from Italy Amarcord is a true AEON family member now. His previous contributions are followed up with a punchy weapon called, „Momentum“.
We are also happy to welcome back our mysterious producer Futuristant with a nostalgic track in style and meaning „Before I miss you“. And Omri Smader with his hypnotic Italo club track „Seger Peger“, who’s latest releases on Blue Shadow & Correspondant caught a lot of attention.
These two are followed by contributions from two debutants. Berlin’s Parla (‘Permanent Vacation’), who’s bringing the early morning/afterhour burner „A World in Purple“ and Felkon from Germany with the clubby Italo shaker „Lytis“.
Last but not least, Silicodisco returns to AEON with a collaboration with DPAZ and created the retro, melodic, dark Italo dance track „Hellish Night“. A track that characterizes the both of them and the perfect track to welcome you to the second part of the Lost Tapes Vol. 5.

Part 2:
Following up on his successfull releases on Gerd Janson’s ‘Running Back’ and his latest EP on DJ Tennis’s label ‘Life & Death’, Alan Dixon kicks off part two with „Space Manoeuvres“.
AEON newbie Alex Virgo brings the Spring vibes with the happy track „Clown Car“.
After Machinegewehr’s well received „Nutant EP“ (AEON054), the Rotterdammer returns with another trippy Italo monster „Call the shots“.
Having already done a remix for „Serpentine“ by Darlyn Vlys, Micropacer is not new to the camp anymore. And we are happy to have him on board with his first solo track „The Magic Number“ on AEON.
Musumeci doesn’t need an introduction anymore. The Italian made his way in the industry with several hit remixes and solo productions on his own imprint „Multinotes“ (with Lehar) or „Permanent Vacation“, after being one of the first remixers on AEON almost a decade ago. His collaboration with Aldebaran on „Escamotage“ will stay in your ears for a while.
Hailing from Jakarta the 4th newbie Past Futura closes this 13 tracker VA with his „Viva La Discoteque“, which we couldn’t think of a better closing title in these difficult times.

After Volume 5 of our Various Artist series „Lost Tapes“, AEON continues with a strong EP from family member, Jepe. The Portuguese born, Berlin living DJ & producer returns with „Ginevra“, after his well received debut EP „Restless Soul“ in 2020.
Ginevra... a queen, woman and a city. Jepe says: „The track is somehow an Ode to Europe women and the beauty of the city“, to which he traveled to with his wife and daughter. „The arpeggio and the strings bring you back to the XVI century of classical music“, he claims, „while the break and its synth take you to the modern and technologic part of the city." 
Transcord - the secret A-side - of this diverse EP brings back 80ies/Italo influenced sound, though with a modern feel. For this track, Jepe teamed up with his mate Joal. The strong synthesizer sequence - slowly building up by layering more and more Oscillators - set the fundament for this grooving Dancefloor beast, while chopped vocals and chords gives this tune the last polish to be a weapon.
The EP is closed with „Salicornia“. The track is named after a plant that grows on salty waters. Same as the plant the tune is flowing in a more calm, but not less affective way. Different than „Ginevra“ & Transcord“ it has a more mystic vibe, diving in deeper areas of your soul, letting you float between the moods of mornings at the end of a club night.

Jepe - Salicornia

Dominik Marz and brothers Radial Gaze team up for this four-track outing on TAU. Both acts have been steadily building their reputations on the underground, maintaining a high level of consistency and captivating dance floors across the planet. The trio have already worked together, dropping ‘Trans’ on Mexican label Duro in 2021. Now they’re back with a full EP, demonstrating the full force of their alliance.

The EP starts with ‘Baren’, where we find a low end percolating alongside crispy beats, with an array of percussive additions to increase the momentum. The bass pumps and vocal clips dip in and out of the background as the trio add more layers. It’s a heady combination of well pro- grammed beats with synth and bassline arrangement.

Then we have ‘Asper’, a dense punchy cut with a simple, hypnotic melody. This cut really benefits from its simplicity, an unfussy foundation which supports a colourful main riff.

Next is ‘Mistral’, a percussion-heavy composition that features an earworm melody, trundling drums, and a warped vocal. This one is a proper dance floor stomper.

Lastly, ‘E-Functions’ is a driving cut with a mysterious aura. The trio keep this one engaging throughout with plenty of progression around the core motifs. It’s ominous yet bouncy and playful, striking the balance perfectly and closing out the EP in style.

Releasing a compilation is not an easy task. Releasing a compilation series is an even harder one. Reaching the 10th volume of a compilation series is an extremely valuable accomplishment! And that’s exactly what we have here: The 10th episode of the “Cross Vault” VA series, coming soon on the Berlin-based label Buttress Records. Doing the honours, four rising and promising artists scattered throughout our little crazy and doomed world, unrelated, distant, but not disconnected: Alexey Union (Russia), Keith Holland (Brazil), Lerr (Montenegro), and Tayga (Italy), independently of their backgrounds and soundscapes, share a strong passion for high-quality underground electronic music – and that was exactly what they brought to the party.

The track we selected to review/premiere comes all the way from South America: From São Paulo, Brazil, to be more precise. Keith Holland, before signing his first release, has done a proper homework by learning and grasping the gist of music production for two years. The result is a fresh take on what he has been listening to during his fifteen-year career as a DJ.

For Buttress, he brought to evidence his signature sonority and cooked something very similar to his debut track on Innervisions’ “Secret Weapons Part 14.1”: Raw and distorted synth layers paired with beautifully arpeggiated leads and accompanied by groovy percussive elements. An infallible recipe that tends to catapult the career of the Paulistano artist. 

And for the Brazilian friends who happen to bump into this review, an important message: FUCK BOLSONARO!

Israeli artist Moscoman returns to Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels imprint with Adventura, featuring a collaboration with alternative and electroclash band Zoot Woman and a remix from Love Attack label bass Alan Dixon. Transmitting twinkling house to emotive indie dance, each artist leaves a stellar stamp on Moscoman's sinuous release.

As summer draws to a close, Moscoman looks forward to the next chapter in his trajectory, undeterred by the change of seasons. "Reasons to be cheerful...a collab with one of my favourite bands, Zoot Woman, combined with a release on Damian's incredible label. October can't come soon enough." The title track opens with a muscular kickdrum and organic percussion before an enchanting melody glides between the beats, igniting a dreamy, tripped-out feel. It's made for an open-minded dancefloor. Moscoman collaborates with Zoot Woman on Reinvention feat. Zoot Woman, blending the airy vocals of Johnny Blake with a shimmering synthline. One for the indie heads. Alan Dixon's remix follows suit with a cosmic disco offering, reworking the stems with verve and serving a slice of strut energy.

Moscoman is a producer, DJ and label boss. He heads up the imprint Disco Halal, showcasing the sounds of house, nu-disco and post-punk supplied by artists from all walks of life. With an ear to merge traditional tones from different dance music cultures worldwide, Moscoman garners an explorative approach to Disco Halal. So far, the label's discography boasts tunes by Simple Symmetry, Red Axes, Trikk and Auntie Flo. His DJ sets slink into long, storytelling sessions of low-slung grooves and post-punk flavoured beats, as heard in Space Miami, Panorama Bar, Glastonbury and Pacha Ibiza, amongst other iconic spots. British act Zoot Woman consists of seminal producers Adam Blake, Johnny Blake and Stuart Price. Since the mid-90s, the group have produced and performed electronica, alternative, electroclash, rock and synthpop. Acclaimed for their scintillating live shows, the group remains one of the most remarkable bands from the UK. London-based Alan Dixon is a producer and DJ celebrated for his disco edits. Labels like Watergate, Life and Death, Keinemusik and Pets Recordings have released his tunes alongside his own imprint, Love Attack.

Fedele’s Obscura Music continues to set a precedent for underground electronic music through a wave of carefully curated exploratory releases from hand-picked global talent alongside the Bari-based label boss himself. The latest shining example of Obscura’s ever-expanding avant-garde appeal is also the second chapter of Fedele’s ‘The Awake’ chronicle - following the well-received arrival of Pt. 1 in July 2022.
					
Spike Express’ opens ‘The Awake, Pt. 2’ with an expectedly potent and pumping Indie Dance thunderbolt from the label boss. Boasting pulsating grooves and a plethora of concrete analogue musicality from start to finish, it’s another head-turning frequency-rich stomper from Fedele that keeps you well within a firm grip for the entirety.

‘The Envelope’ matches the searing vibe with another remarkable club-focused cut from the Italian. Undulating drum work and fizzing hat sequences provide a blend of punch and swing whilst gritty lead melodies and atmospheric soundscapes bring the track’s ominously ear-catching persona to life.
		
On the flip, we welcome two remixers to the project to provide undeniably unique and blistering offerings. Electroclash’s founding father, French electronic icon The Hacker pairs with fellow Bari-native Golden Virgo.
