I'm really happy to share with you the first single of my upcoming album. A million thanks to Stefán Örn @stebbi30000, the mastermind behind the production, most of the instruments and mix. Magnús Trygvason Elíassen played the drums and Sylvía Hlynsdóttir a bit of trumpet. Sigurdór Guðmundsson mastered the track. Album artwork is by the talented Anna Maggý. 

Listen and feel free to share the song 🤍 I wrote the song and lyrics in 2017 after reading #metoo stories from countless women and seeing the hostile reaction in comment sections. People "shielding themselves from what's uneasy to see, instead of shielding the ones in need". Survivors, I hear you and stand with you.

This song is really dear to me. I wrote it as a secret wedding gift for a friend around three years ago when she got married in Amsterdam. I flew out and attended the wedding as a surprise and played the happy couple the song. Now it's been recorded and since this friend is a musicican too Sylvía Hlynsdóttir - I asked her to record trumpets on the song. Here is the result. Easy to choose is Sylvía's and Daniel's love story.

MIMRA is the guise of Icelandic singer, composer and producer María Magnúsdóttir, creating her own style of electro-acoustic folk-pop.
