Caffeine Buzz starts off in the key of Bb minor before making its visit to some other distant keys. Mostly in a Bossa Nova style, this piece revisits lounge music in a less subtle manner as it embodies the jittery sensation one experiences during a buzz - the walking bass sections which are layered with lively improvisations and explosive progressions emulate this exact feeling. Complementing the fuel-driven portions of the piece is a slow section which is intended to depict a temporary calm as one would experience in a cosy coffee lounge, which is whimsically followed by yet another high octane walking bass section which leads to a dramatic recapitulation. The piece then ends with a phrase that was introduced in the beginning but in a creamier, smoother yet spicy harmonic context, all in an effort to end the buzz with a delectable aftertaste.
