This is a metaphor of sounds changing color, shape, texture, mimicking the adaptation of micro-organisms in extreme environments of temperatures, density, concentrations, and dirt. Rejecting its core characteristics, gender or genre, this creature craves for an unmapped transformation by tearing apart its own skin from inside.

Having previously released a slew of tapes on labels such as Clan Destine Records and Live Adult Entertainment, Penelope’s Fiancé lands on Hypermedium for his vinyl debut. Hailing from Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki, Penelope’s Fiancé has been keeping over the past few years a fast pace of work, constantly producing tracks and releasing new music, having shaped a unique sound that drifts across the borders of lo-fi, post-industrial and fuzzy techno. The Cutting Edge Of A Knife is the culmination of all these previous excursions, a solid display of his ability to craft emotionally intense tracks, merging a ghostly, gloomy grandeur with squelching percussive patterns.

Premiere: Penelope's Fiance - I Wasn't Always There [Hypermedium]

We are hyped to present the debut EP of the Swiss duo Gated Boyhood, already known as Mr. Peña and Dizco Joe. The music is a tribute to the old days when we used to dance together down in the rave cave, transferred to the present and ready to provide this feeling to both old connoisseurs as well as the new generation. We hope you enjoy this one, it’s one of the most deeply rooted projects of our label, involving many lovely people.

The tape comes in a jewel case and with a temporary tattoo, including exclusive tape-only material and will be released together with the digitals on December 15th, 2020.
