Slam’s heavy hitting track, Collecting Data, which has been one of the most played and biggest selling in Paragraph’s two year history sees reworks from UK House legend Steve Lawler and Italian man-of-the-moment Sasha Carassi.

While most people have been relaxing over the festival spell, Slam have been hard at work; touring Australia over the Christmas and New Year period, finishing off their new release for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode imprint and working on their Paragraph Deconstructed album, due for release in Summer 2011.

Up first is Steve Lawler’s Remix. A percussive filled intro sets the pace for a thoroughly jacking remix. Steve’s slick use of the original samples grabs attention immediately as rhythms melt into one another on the introduction of a punching kick drum. He transforms this track from a weighty, dark techno work-out to a funk-fuelled slice of House, with an infectious back-beat groove, snare rolls a plenty and bumping bassline. This remix has been a pivotal part of Slam’s DJ sets recently and you can tell why!

Sasha Carassi steps up next with his brilliant head-down and dance affair. Carassi keeps the menace of the original Collecting Data track through haunting synths and eerie effects. Solid sub-bass holds tight while the original Slam hook is dangled in and out of the track, teasing the listener. Sasha’s intense percussion retains the drive and presence of the original, while adding his own Italian twist to this heavy-weight remix.

Truesoul Records are proud to announce the release of ‘Let Your Soul Outside’, the debut album from Reset Robot in April 2014.

Behind the Reset Robot project is Dave Robertson, a producer who has released standout singles on labels like Dogmatik, Intacto and Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint over the past 5 years. Now he steps up with his debut album, the stunning ‘Let Your Soul Outside’.

The LP was written at Reset Robot’s home studio in Portsmouth and is an album of fascinating textures inspired by “all the music I listen to and love!” says the producer himself. “I've wanted to do this for a long time and all of a sudden I had 8 or 9 tracks together which were a little bit different. I added a few more and asked a close friend, Tom Powell from Mister Woo, to add vocals to a couple of them and it was ready.”

The result is a full length that touches on many different moods and emotions, starting with the melodically soothing tech funk of ‘Guitar Man’. Tracks like ‘Little Alice’ then pick up the momentum thanks to slick beats and crisp percussion and ‘Sizzler’ introduces a soulful vocal element over more tortured sounding, synth-laden grooves.

It’s not all full on dancefloor material though, with tracks like ‘Desi Beats’ it allows you a little time to breath thanks to their more widescreen and laidback vibe, whilst ‘Sausage’ strikes a truly emotive pose that has your thoughts turning inwards.

With this album Reset Robot proves both his range and his dexterity – no two tracks sound the same, and instead the Portsmouth producer explores every nook and cranny with a fine attention to detail that really makes the whole thing sing. ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ is a stellar achievement.

It’s time, once again, to get into the MOOD. Our driver for the label’s latest shady soiree is the boss herself: Nicole Moudaber.

Currently cruising on the trip of her life (literally – she’s just passed her race driver test), Nicole is wrapping up 2015 at unfathomable speeds right now. Fresh from her legendary ‘Breed’ collaborations with Skin and remixing Pan Pot, Scuba and recently Black Asteroid all within the last three months, Nicole unleashes her first solo triple-tracker in a long time…

‘Silent Sigh’ commences the adventure with an unhurried build as each bar sees a new space age texture wrapping around her stoic kicks. Gradually the elements disappear until all you can see, feel and hear is black. Stark designs twist through the ether from left to right then boom: an even darker, sub-laden kick pressure ignites from nowhere. Trust us, this will do more than make your dancefloor sigh…

We proceed with intimacy as Nicole persuades us to ‘Move A Little Closer’. The beats underpin her whispers and do well to magnetise, but it’s the gradual ice blast pads that really allure. Building and building with ageless progression, the big pay-off comes with one of the most delicious, almost cosmic, breakdowns Nicole has ever crafted.

MOOD now fully established, ‘Own’ has the honour of closing the show. Relentless kicks and a scratchy snare paint the backdrop for bold splashes of colour as eastern vocals ghost through the spectrum weaving mystically around Nicole’s signature insistent percussive dynamics, escalating into shamanic oblivion.

After a great remix outing on the last Seamless Recordings release of Philipp Ort, we bring you the first release on the label from Horatio. The now Ibiza based Romanian and  Natural Rhythm label boss is no stranger to the dancefloors of the globe with his tracks being  supported continuously by pretty much every industry heavyweight possible, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Adam Beyer and many more. 
On his first EP release on Seamless he has produced two excellent tracks Serengeti and Nukua. They are fitting in his trademark deep style which are perfect for the big stages and clubs of the world. The first track Serengeti is a percussive builder with African chants a plenty and a seductive groove that's pure daytime tech house, think Luciano & Andre Butano, and you'll soon know where we're at. The Second track is Nukua is a taste of Horatios' Romanian roots, deep synth stabs and pads create the basis of this atmospheric journey, combine this with some ethnic samples you get a highly infectious and underground work out. 
This comes complete with a remix of Serengeti from Seamless favourite, Martijn Ten Velden. After his massive remix of James Trystan & Barber featuring Marisa - Falling Free last year, Martijn has once again worked his remix magic on this release.  He has taken the parts and given them more of an uplifting work out. Working the percussive parts to magical effect and looping and filtering many of the parts, he has created an hypnotic groove which builds and builds to the break and works the African chants to excellent effect before dropping back in for maximum dancefloor destruction.

Egbert returns to Mindshake Records with Wild EP, the label’s 43rd release. After his Knapperig EP, out in 2015, and an impressive remix of Nick Curly’s ‘Olympic’ track, this latest project from the taleted producer and LIVE act specialist is ferocious and delirious.

Egbert’s special skills have attracted the attention of big names from the electronic scene: Secret Cinema, Sven Väth, Paco Osuna, Gregor Tresher and Adam Beyer are just a few of the DJs and producers who have detected the genius beneath the fingers of this slick young Dutchman. On his return to Mindshake Records, Egbert seamlessly stamps the energetic and furious scent from his LIVE acts on this three-act piece where the furore and the passion never disappears, but is transformed in order to enhance the experience.

Opening the EP is ’Wild’, a deep wavy tune balanced with high, sharp textures that delve us into a vibrant circuit that is impossible to leave. Making it true to its name, ’Wild’ is the fascinating trap that keeps us waiting for Egbert’s next move. Anchored in the wilderness, ‘Control’ represents a different challenge. Through a dry and warm upbeat groove, a suggestive female voice invites us to an unsystematic control. ‘Elektriciteit’ grows from a frenzied start, reflecting Egbert’s natural outgoing techniques and artistry. ‘Elektriciteit’ is formed from a subtle melodic base that climbs fast to the top by applying flowing synths and punchy kicks to create a dark and dim track suitable for linking together all the pieces of this new reference.

With ‘Wild’ EP, Egbert and Mindshake Records once again cement their musical partnership that has seen them score success on the Mindshake Showcases around the world.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.

Slam release a new EP hot on the heels of their new Archive Edits Series, one that sees the Glaswegian duo focusing firmly on raw, dance floor Techno with fast paced  intelligently programmed audio assaults. 

Title track Synchro features a remix from Autonomous, a snapping 808 electro workout with slick robotic beats and synths to create a melancholic vibe. The original of Synchro quickly follows like a knockout blow with a thundering pace. Static shock synth hooks drive a steady and unyielding 909 beat. Trilinear brings a bit more depth but still retains ferocity. Resonating and pulsing synths create the tension with propulsive percussion constructing the energy. On the ‘TRUNCEI8HT’ EP (see what we did there!), David Flores serves up a trio of textbook techno DJ tools for the deeper dancefloors.

A stripped down, bouncing groove constitutes ‘Our Bodies’, as rattling ride rhythms and rolling percussion maintain forward motion, its scantly used metallic vocal sample crushed and mangled. 

Latin flavours are at play on ‘Utility 2’, with a female vox and bustling groove adding bucket loads of funk to it’s already super charged vibe, whilst ‘Utility 3’ goes further, ramping up the BPMs and offering up a frantic loop driven banger with that unmistakable Truncate sound!

Hot on the heels of “Flesh Is A Prison” - the quirky, electronic wonderland he contributed to Cocoon’s phenomenal S compilation - the multi-talented Neil Landstrumm consolidates his position on the label roster with a debut 3-track EP that channels the uncompromising spirit of seminal UK labels like Network, Warp and Vinyl Solution.

It’s clear from the first few seconds of “Sun Universe” that we‘re being transported back to 90‘s UK rave culture at a point where rave, jungle and house were mutating into speed garage. Ruffness abounds as stuttering snare rolls accompany the rude boy bass, ragga samples and classic ‘hoover’ synth riff, while peripheral sounds circle the groove adding a contemporary twist. Staying true to the times, the arrangement plays it straight, alternating between two distinct structures - one labelled ‘jump up’ and the other ‘spread out’! These timely juxtapositions of mood alone mean the track will blow up on any dance floor.

“Purple” continues in a similar vein, with a phat, warping bass line underpinning the blunted beats and dusty bleeps. Landstrumm rides the mix in classic old school style, cutting up the linear arrangement with sudden unexpected deviations, alternative rhythms and layered melodies that lend a hidden complexity to the relentless groove. There’s a different energy at work here, one that flies in the face of certain overcooked, modern production techniques, finding more in common with a raw, vintage Carl Cox three deck mix tape, circa 1989.

To round things off, “Catnatized” drops the tempo for a slab of grimy, acid funk that recalls the early excursions of Sheffield’s electronic pioneers, with a hint of embryonic Amsterdam House thrown in for good measure. Once again the bass line grabs the headlines, rasping and morphing in its own peculiar language while twisted vocals tease the dance floor with the logic of the absurd. It’s another refreshingly unique statement from Neil Landstrumm, rounding off a ‘must have’ EP that fits perfectly with the Cocoon ethos of championing the presence of the past.
