Mindshake Records welcomes CUARTERO with his new EP ‘WAVY DISTANCE’, which marks the label's 40th release.

This young Spanish producer is characterised by his unique musical intuition and his pursuit of new sounds, textures and structures; over the past few years his releases on Hot Creations, Desolat, Saved, Moon Harbour and Circus have established his reputation as one of the hottest producers around. As expected, this new delivery carries all the hallmarks of a Cuartero release: passionate, groovy and thrilling techno. Wavy Distance EP features two original cuts and also includes two impressive remixes by Paco Osuna and Fer BR.

‘Wavy Distance’ is full of clashing beats, a consistent and hermetic track which escalates in intensity while adding choppy lo-fi vocals. Without a doubt its spectacular and unexpected 80s drum beat takes you to the very top and as its name suggests, it is a wavy bass journey between bright snares and deep drums. 

Paco Osuna’s ‘Wavy Distance’ remix travels to the limits of interpretation, keeping the “wavy” bass but with a deep techno essence. The glow in the remix comes from the galactic echo vocals amid a sway of elements, making this version a fluent and steamy take on Cuartero’s original, combined with sharp drums taking you to the roots of deep bass.

‘Talking Drum’, is a genuine tech-house piece with a dark tribal scent, dressed with his world-famous vocal sequences, transporting the listener directly to the dance floor. Fer BR interprets this track as a dry bass theme with shiny snares and sporadic deep vocals mixed with surround sounds, a remix that takes you to the most hidden parts of the original track.

Be prepared because Wavy Distance EP is set to crash the dance floors all around the world!

Mindshake Records leans on the robust and energetic sounds of Colombian Sean Random to deliver MINDSHAKE041.

DJ and producer Alejandro Usma, aka Sean Random, has already shown what the techno scene can expect from his determined and vibrant style. Prestigious DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and, of course, the founder mind of Mindshake Paco Osuna, have all given their stamp of approval to his powerful releases. 

In this one, intuition tells us that the intention of ‘High’ EP is complicatedly simple: to create a penetrating dose of techno. Marking the beginning of the sound storm is ‘High’, which creates a steamy drum breeze settled gradually by shiny and playful echoey vocals and short synth beats.

‘915’ comes along next to accelerate the rhythm, transforming the steam into liquid sound by introducing surround elements from the underground to create a dance between bright snares and dry drums. Both tunes can be seen as something of a premonition of what will come. Cautiously at first, ‘Jumper’ starts firmly until stamping a cutting and commanding vibe on a track full of euphoric loops nuanced with choppy drums and persistent misty vocals. Far from calming the tempest, ‘Spitze’ wraps up the EP in a wild way as unusual tempo beats mix with stimulating sighs and varied turns.

This collaboration is an undeniable music bomb and it’s clear that with ‘High’ EP both Mindshake Records and Sean Random sharpen their cutting-edge status within the worldwide electronic music industry.

By utilizing a few powerful elements, ‘Drift’ dives into the heavy ethereal creating the perfect balance between tension and serenity. Wrapping up the release Lens delivers the most psychedelic cut of the EP with ‘Resonance’. Another masterpiece in the minimal approach, Amelie utilizes a simple shimmering synth as the vehicle in which to traverse a dark world of intense percussive sonics. Get ready to take a journey. Carl Cox is an iconic figurehead of the electronic music industry, whose influential legacy includes his much famed label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell. Joining forces for their debut Intec release is Frazier and Rudosa who are two British born solo producers, whose tracks on this release have already been causing quite a stir with Richie Hawtin, Pan Pot, Sam Paganini and Adam Beyer. Based in the English city of Manchester, Rudosa is the alias of Mark Bradbury, who before its recent closing was formerly a resident of the world famous Sankeys nightclub, where he warmed up for a string of top international DJ's. Rudosa's intelligent yet driving strain of techno has previously been released on labels including Phobiq, Underground Audio and Respekt Recordings. Frazier (UK) is based in the Scottish city of Glasgow where his club night iNCEPT is also held. Frazier is resident DJ at Hans Bouffmyhre's Sleaze night too, which also runs in Glasgow and he as warmed up for DJ’s ranging from Dustin Zahn to Nicole Moudaber. Having also released on labels in including Pan-Pot’s Second State, his music is regularly supported by the likes of Sam Paganini, Luigi Madonna and Ben Klock. First up is "Invasion" starts with raw percussion and an eerie vocal that gives the track its title. Stripped back with acid stabs and building tension, this Techno cut is understated with a timeless sound. Hard hitting with a stomping groove it's a certified club banger. "Rotate" is second on the release with shuffling hi-hats and building synth stabs. Lead by the thump of the kick and crisp claps that cut through the mix, this track has metallic pads influenced by the classic sound of Detroit. Finished with a commanding vocal, it ticks all the boxes needed for a powerful Techno anthem.
