Artefakt continues their collaboration with Semantica Records announcing their mini-LP ‘Floodplain’ to be released on the 7th of April. The 6-tracker creates a sonic landscape out of mountainous rhythms, mutating synths and liquid bass patterns contrasted with timid feedback resonances and fluttering shimmery piano recordings against a backdrop of environmental sound. Connecting to naturally engulfing floodplains the EP flows organically into a network of hypnotic structures highlighting the duo’s unique sculptural approach to techno in line with their former album ‘Monsoon’.

The ever-growing and always kinky techno world of Mind Medizin expands once again here with a new 12-track compilation album, ‘Mind Medizin presents Sub/Mission’. It features a wealth of artists new to the label, offering subtle evolutions of its unique sound.

As a label and a party, Mind Medizin is a place where everyone is welcome, and people are encouraged to be whoever they want to be. The core values behind the concept are about embracing sexual energy and diversity while liberating erotic innocence. So far, it has served up a sublime series of hard-hitting EPs from Lady Tazz, KYMRS, Uncertain, Jauri and many more, and this new compilation welcomes yet more forward-thinking talents.

Says the tastemaking label head Lady Tazz, “I have featured these performers with the utmost delight. Because we only put out 10 Eps a year, there are simply too many amazing artists for us to feature them all. Having this collection is very important for me on the label because it gives me the chance to experiment with the label's style. It's fascinating to hear how varied regional techno can sound. I'm really grateful to have them on board. They are all outstanding artists."

So it proves right from the off with Deluka's 'Who Said', a pulsing deep techno cut with Mills-style synth layers melting the mind. Lee Holman's 'Death Twitch' is more unhinged with its paranoid synth deployment, and Franco Rossi's 'Psyhi' is a perfect supple linear roller. There are booming, swinging kicks and raw hits from Victor Fernandez, Resonances (IT) offers cosmic techno turbulence, and Sinistermind invites you into an atmospheric headspace full of celestial melody.

The second half of the collection offers pounding drum funk from Oddible, hunched-over kicks and hypnotic keys from Vitorino and Lego layers up fizzing synths and haunting pads to make for a late-night banger on 'No Me Without You'. A final trio of cuts from Marthial, Tomas Kunkel and Chaz (IN) all take the driving deep techno style of this label into psychedelic and thrilling new realms.

This is a perfect window into the unique techno world of the vital Mind Medizin label.

The infamous duo comprising label co-owner Hd Substance and scfi master A4 collide again in the studio for the third installment of their renowned exercises series. Previously released on this very label and on Inguma Records.

For this EP they want to be aside of the current fast paced trends creating five exercises of ambient, breaks, acid and the compulsory bleep portion.

Release starts with Exercise Nine, crunchy hi frequency noises, wavetable dreamy pads made on a rusty old Korg Wavestation and some spoken word action by an old scientist explaining how waveforms behave sampled from Youtube.

Second cut is the bleepy Exercise Ten, abstract asymmetrical sequences, 808 raw rhythms and a minimal approach in an ode to hyperspace. On Exercise Eleven, the 808 is starring again with a broken groove setting the pace for a Korg ms 20 sequence galore and white noise twisted live during the recording. The spoken word comes from the first cut as well as the Wavestation pads.

Exercise Twelve goes straight to the dancefloor bringing the System 55 modular system on the sequenced lines plus the odd 909/808 combo again on virtual drumming duties.

Closing the release Exercise Thirteen return to broken rhythms and Fm metallic hits plus some tb 303 blurbs to add the citric element to the equation.

With thirteen tracks already released the duo is working on a live set together that will see the light somewhen in 2024 if planet earth is still alive.

SUB_tl 081_ Rude Solo_Exercises Vol.3

Swimming in deep and seemingly calm waters has turned into a kind of extreme sport in a music scene that keeps cranking up the BPMs and toughening its vibe. That's why stumbling upon EPs like the one Madrid-based producer Blovk is dropping on Gordo Trax with this "Quiescence" feels like a bit of a luxury.

From his studio, where cables snake into his modular synthesizers like injecting venom, Blovk crafts four original tracks that showcase an artist hitting his stride. It's a journey through a analog, metallic, and textural sonic landscape.

In this "Quiescence" EP, you'll find futuristic minimalism, warm and cyclical sequences resonating in an organic space, techno landscapes, and a hunger for what's to come.

Adding to the mix, there are remixes by Viels and Fase Bipolar. The Italian artist, a regular on Warm Up Recordings, serves up a beautifully rounded, ethereal remix. Meanwhile, the Fase Bipolar duo, based on Sungate Records, injects their characteristic robotic groove into a dancefloor-oriented remix.

MindTrip consistently advances its focus by introducing new techno artists from around the globe. Gresil, a young talent from Argentina, is at the forefront, known for his hypnotic, intense, and unwavering sound, as showcased in his debut on the recent Mutable Minds compilation (MT56). Now, with ''Antiguo Olvidado'' he presents his inaugural EP on the label, skillfully navigating between the straightforward and the abstract. Reinvented and relaunched in 2012 under the new name MindTrip.

MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.
