X.Y.R.  - Temple Of Solitary Reflections

This new piece; Temple Of Solitary Reflections, was originally created, but subsequently modernized for one of the audiovisual installations (on the subject of a human / megalopolis collision with nature) for an exhibition at the Vinzavod Gallery in Moscow, Russia in 2020. This work is a kind of meditation session, during which there is an establishment of internal connections with nature. In order to find the optimal balance between beauty, fears and spiritual insight. X.Y.R. applies to his music; analog synthesizers (formanta-mini, korg m1), a loop station and field recordings.

NYC-based imprint @patienceimpatience line up their sixth release courtesy of @johannaknutsson. An accomplished DJ and producer in the field of spacey techno, ‘Dingsbums Homage’ presents 15 minutes of tribal electronics.

Traditionally a real-time improviser, Thorn applies the same method here: live improvisation, spontaneous structure-building, and experimental mélanges of violin and code. Many of its foggy textures derive from Haze, a tool he developed for generating densely patterned lo-fi soundscapes.

A sonic memoir imbued with violin and experimental code, a curious doubling of terms begins at the churning waters of Necarney Creek merging with the Pacific. Unfolding from pure lyricism into machinic textures, the music summons the verdant twilight of the primeval forest and the glow of the city lights it ad-umbrates. The machinic is both refuge and trial in this work, though the final word is the fracturing, hard-driven logic-become-logistics that may signal a morbid dénouement.
