Ho ho ho, the mystery-shrouded Rrose - named after Marcel Duchamp’s eponymous persona, punches in right on cue for Xmas with an absolute monster of a two-hour jaunt into their exquisitely twisted headspace. Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. Insolate stands as a defining figure in the Croatian techno circuit, achieving international acclaim over two decades as both a revered DJ and producer, and the driving force behind the esteemed Out Of Place label, as well as the electrifying HUSH! and TRAUM events. 

With her roots in Osijek, she initiated her journey in 1997, progressing to captivate audiences across Europe and the globe. Honored as "Croatia’s ambassador overseas" in 2017 and 2018, and lauded as Croatia's top DJ in 2022, Insolate also proudly represented her country at the DJ Awards in Ibiza, claiming the "Dance Nation of the Year" award.

The enigmatic Myles Sergé is a low flying techno producer, hard working label head and old school DJ, however he prefers the term ‘reclusive perfectionist’. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Myles experienced a temporary sojourn to the beachside of the the UK’s Brighton before relocating to Berlin. In some respects the American’s music bypasses the melodic classicalism of Detroit for a stripped-back European take on techno, though the mettlesome machine- funk of his raw style, and rough and ready prowess behind the decks, is never too far from the outer-regions of the US’ motorcity he calls home.

As a regular guest at Tresor, with no stranger to bookings at Berlin’s Berghain, Griessmuehle and ://about blank, to his residency at Steevio’s Freerotation festival in Wales, Myles is a shining example of how one can traverse the European-American transatlantic divide. With a belt of labels under his control – (MS), Re-Form, Dosed and Space – Myles has since moved on to count the likes of NYC’s Thema, The Zenker Brother’s Ilian Tape and Dan Curtin’s Metamorphic imprints as home for his music. Never one to boast, Myles Sergé Clark’s revised approach to the warehouse techno of his recent mixes and DJ sets keeps the quality underground.

Thanks for being here to listen to this special mix, this one comes right from the heart and I can barely keep from breaking down while I write this. TW sexual assault and violence.

I made this mix in the middle of my Asia tour, amidst news of two brutal rape and murder cases in India the past days. So much pain and anger fills me with this news, the brutality and lack of action is outrageous. While I'm grateful to be living in safer places most of my life, no place is really safe for FLINTA people all over the world. I didn't understand why there was a knot in my throat and tears well up in my eyes every time I read related news, until I read something earlier today that states the deep reaction women feel about news of violence with other women is because it builds trauma within us, fear at our core that the news could have been about us or a loved one.

This mix is primarily FLINTA producers as an ode to all those who have been victims...you didn't ask for it and you didn't deserve it 💔 It's an ode to minorities who take micro aggressions in their stride because they happen all the time, and keep looking over their back fearing for their safety everyday...it’s an ode to people all over the world who brave through everyday just to survive when other humans play power games to feed their ego and destroy lives.

My hope is that we as the people embodying the spirit of resistance in the music culture we are part of, stand up for those less privileged than us. I urge the men around us for your allyship not just as words but in action to make the world a safe place for everyone to exist.
