Detroit-native who calls Sin City home, IDORU is a musician, co-founder and head of Manta Recordings.

Inspired by her surroundings, eternal groove is the underlying sonic glue in Idoru’s music, whether rooted in the underground industrial scene of her hometown Detroit, or pulled from the infinite palette of cities experienced from all over the world. Her cyber-futuristic aesthetics are deeply woven into the fabric of Idoru's ethos, and are a nod to favorite sci-fi novelist, William Gibson. 
The cyborgification of humanity also bleeds its influence into Idoru’s sonic fingerprint, and an anti-idol philosophy that recoils from human brain-drain and venomous self-adoration. Hence, fearless bass lines and mechanistic sounds often infuse her music, combined with ethereal soundscapes that arrest the mind in unknowable dimensions. Signified by a driving pulse that extracts from euphoria to the depths of the bubbling subconscious void, the ever-present darkness of Idoru’s music hangs in the balance, with illuminating sounds colored by playful liminality.

We have been Djing since the mid 90s, mainly bedroom. We DJ with vinyl and love the discovery of new music. This is why you won't find these mixes as ego driven, it's more about discovery the old fashioned way by buying wax and hanging out in record shops. I'm Niko, also known as Nicole Kalman, and I've been hooked on electronic music since I was a little kid. It's been a lifelong passion of mine. In 2020, I started flexing my creative muscles by editing music videos, which opened up a whole new world for me in music production and mixing.

Alongside that, I jumped headfirst into DJing and creating awesome DJ set videos. You can catch most of my mixes on SoundCloud and podcasts on YouTube.

My musical style is always evolving because I'm all about exploring different genres. Right now, I'm digging melodic house/techno, indie dance, dark disco, and progressive house.
