Erased Tapes and Kranky are pleased to announce the release of A Winged Victory for the Sullen's 'ATOMOS VII'. April 28 sees the first installment leading up to the release of the second full length studio album 'ATOMOS', and score for choreographer Wayne McGregor's long form dance piece. 

McGregor was heavily influenced by the duo's 2011 self-titled debut, playing it repeatedly during practices with his core group of dancers. After noticing the group's reaction with the music, he contacted Adam & Dustin to see if they could write the score for his new oeuvre. 

The duo recorded more than sixty minutes of music over a four month period during the summer of 2013 in Brussels, Berlin and Reykjavik with the help of their longtime collaborative sound engineer Francesco Donadello. This EP also sees the involvement of Ben Frost, who composed the music for McGregor's previous work 'Far'.

McGregor, mastermind behind the Random Dance Company and resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet since 2006, is known in popular culture circles for serving as movement director for the film 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. He has also choreographed the Radiohead video 'Lotus Flower' and 'Ingenue' by Atoms for Peace.

Like 3 sketches in one drawing that don’t relate to one another. Should I cut each section apart and develop? I collaged my poetry, Zurich tram from 2003, a sample of a certain type of movie genre, my friend Honey’s dove chorteling, and playing with one of my father’s shortwave radios. As a child, I had a deep fascination with the soumds between the stations, and would be endlessly entertained by the ambient sounds. I then played my mini akai usb powered keyboard over it all. Made in Garageband late at night on January 17th, 2025 in San Fracisco on planet Earth.

I was born in Germany to a Turkish audiophile father and an American artist mother. I was raised in the wonderlands of Japan and Iceland, traveling often with my parents. In Iceland, to amuse myself in the cold lightless winter months, I used to sit for hours at my father's Panasonic Double Superheterodyne RF-B600 shortwave radio, turning the dial left and right, entranced with the sounds between the stations. I'd pick up the same morse code signals and pure static. 

At the age of 26, I started making field recordings. Then I had a bursting forth of poetry from 2003-2006, when I lived in San Francisco. This is when I had the idea to use my poetry to make music in Garageband and Reaper. I do it for a hobby, since I'm actually a fashion accessories designer, but hope to one day release an album or two!
