For some people, the journey toward finding their passion is a laundry list of hobbies and dipping toes into the waters of interest. For others, there isn’t a list at all. They simply know what they're meant to do from the start. Carey Durham is one of the others.  

Carey first began his journey at the age of 6, when he began to study violin. Coupled with the old-school tunes his parents raised him on, violin served as a springboard for all of his musical endeavors. Along the way, Carey was one half of a musical duo in high school. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Audio Engineering at the Art Institute of Atlanta. He later formed a band called The Truth, pioneering a new music style they named Ja Vu Soul. Their tunes blended hints of reggae, the sultriness of R&B, upbeat tempos of pop, and an extra hint of musical flavor. Carey has been working behind the scenes on production for others, and now he does the same for himself. 

With a range of abilities from composition to production, he began creating Mr. Music. His most significant musical endeavor yet, Mr. Music is a creative powerhouse of sorts, showcasing each of his abilities interacting with one another. Combining original songs and catchy covers in a classroom setting, Mr. Music is sure to teach us a few things about Carey, and maybe even a thing or two about ourselves.
