Growing up in New York City's Soho area, the daughter of a painter and fashion designer, Alison Tara was raised on a diet of electronic music from the likes of Phillip Glass, Steve Reich, Laurie Anderson and Terry Riley. Trained in classical piano, voice, music theory, ear training & flute at the Manhattan School Of Music for 14 years, Alison then left for college in California in the 90’s, where she quickly fell into the budding rave scene, especially the Wicked Crew's legendary beach and full moon parties. The next logical step was to purchase a mixer and a pair of SL1200's, followed quickly by a second-hand Juno 60 and a copy of Logic. Moving back to NYC, Alison began to establish her reputation as a DJ to watch on New York City’s local club circuit, playing alongside such legends as Todd Terry and the Detroit Grand Pubahs. With a manager from Ministry of Sound, she played some very special underground Ministry of Sound parties in NY, and went on to play abroad, as far as Japan. Meanwhile, Alison became the Dance Music Buyer and Manager at taste-making vinyl shop Turntable Lab for ten years. Starting her Dirty Trick Record label was the next natural step for her as she continues to take her profile to the next level. Dirty Trick has been getting support from the likes of Fred Everything, Dj Heather, Diz, and Justin Long. Having released her own original production with a remix by Brennan Green on her debut Dirty Trick release, Alison went on to drop Marko Militano’s classic “Turning Leaves,” and is now releasing Trademarq’s “Fort Dodge,” as a joint release with Bananza Records- with a remix by herself, as well as Lil’ Mark and Tanner Ross.

Kelly Sylvia is a DJ/producer, songwriter and vocalist. As a seasoned DJ, she has toured on 4 continents, and in some of the world’s biggest clubbing capitals from LA to Hong Kong, and everywhere in between. In her adopted home of London, she has earned her stripes in the underground scene by playing to some of the most discerning dancefloors at venues such as Fabric, Ministry of Sound, and Turnmills for over a decade.

As a producer, Kelly’s knack for fusing together hybrids of house with more deep, techy and modern electronic sounds is apparent in all of her releases.  She attributes her eclectic sound to years on the dancefloor as both a DJ and as a clubber growing up in the east coast US club scene. Hitting weekly raves and warehouse parties in NYC and Boston exposed her to all styles of dance music - from house to techno, to drum and bass and electro - giving her a experienced ear and breadth of knowledge which she draws upon in the studio.

Through her Blood & Stone Music imprint, she has released 4 EPs, which have gained support from luminaries like Ritchie Hawtin, Luciano and Kerri Chandler. This year, Kelly will continue her production work with forthcoming collaborations and remixes, as well as releases on some notable house and techno labels, while also refining her sound and adding more of her own vocals to her productions.
