Berlin-based creative Cecilia Tosh joins us for this week’s LT Podcast with a texturally deep and dubby techno mix, representative of her ”inner world, but maybe also of Berlin's new change.” ✨

In Cecilia Tosh's words:
There has been a "BPM peak" in Berlin culture in recent months (to a few years). Probably hardly missed by anyone. 📈

Most DJs were playing around 140 BPM upwards. I also had great fun with it - at least in some club gigs. 

But slowly it's getting quieter and deeper again for me. 

In this mix I left a lot of space for the individual dubby and percussive elements and enjoyed playing with them. 
It is a very good snapshot of my inner world, but maybe also of Berlin's new change. I'm curious where this will evolve next.

"Last summer I did the opening of the Ouroboros festival with this set.
It's an experimental selection in which I gathered tracks that made me feel in a peculiar way, some intense gut feeling. In a sense this set is a bit cathartic and enabled me to crystalize the not so great vibes I had at the time."

About Barnemax:
His taste in music is hard to pin down, but if anything, then it can be defined as an ever-present undergrowth of bubbling alien activity might fit the most. While his music is not best characterized by classic dancefloor bangers, you will time and again find yourself confronted with high energy elements that do not tolerate standing around idle. These compositions are often entangled in broken, heavy beats; fractured textures; minimalistic games of rhythms; and eerie ambience. Indeed, contrast is a frequent companion in his releases: a clean ode to the sounds microbes make in the morning light walks hand to hand with distorted and unsettling sounds coming from haunted basements filled with cigarette smoke. An element of surprise can be safely expected. barnemax's palette includes, without an attempt of completeness: deep techno, IDM, downtempo, experimental electronic music.

We really hope you enjoy the introspection proposed by the artist in this conceptual & beautiful session.

Blind Observatory is a DJ, music producer, designer and visual artist who's body of work is orbiting around topics of science-fiction, futurism and astronomy.
Conceived as a philosophy of treating dance floors as the "observatory for the blind", the name stays a constant reminder and loose set of rules for David when investigating both, the infinite freedom and loneliness found in the universe. 
This unique approach and a deep understanding of a night's flow make him a true master of riding the thin line between melancholy and euphoria, earning him the reputation of a DJ's DJ. 
Since 2016 he is running the small label @gravitationalrecords, not only as an outlet for his own music but a hub for like-minded artists.
David's sets are best described as cinematic journeys into the unknown. 
This is so well represented in this journey he created for us.

Recorded live on March 11th at STAUB in ://about blank Berlin. This 1hr-ish excerpt was taken from my 3hr closing set.

Big room bang, hypnotic, fast, high energy, and colorful are just some of the words I would use to describe this set. The crowd was really engaged and it was heartwarming to see so many friends around me dancing like crazy.
