Verve Mix 009: Arrowhead

When we started talking about dream bookings for the first SLINK night, @cassius-select was always at the top of our list. Via can't miss club drops and his stretched and screwed releases as FAKE, he's never been less than unpredictable and wildly inventive. He provided the perfect peak time set for us last year and we're honored to have him back for the second installment of our mix series. 

"I wanted to make a less club-oriented mix not only to reflect my musical upbringing and background but to reflect the times we're in now. An industry I always felt separate to is going through some changes. But it's allowed me to feel more comfortable about going back to writing songs and using my voice again. In my life I feel that songs are more functional than dance music at the moment.

I know the SLINK crew are fans of a wide variety of music and I like them all dearly so I wanted to deliver something more personal.

I wanted the mix to hold tension until the very last moments. Three quarters of it glooms while the last bit blooms. That was the intention" - CS
