The guys are reportely currently hard at work on a full length album which will be released later this year on Klute’s Commercial Suicide label and with an appearance at the label’s upcoming Room Three takeover on Friday 30th May, we asked The Invaderz to put together a mixtape in an attempt to get to know them the most direct way possible: through their music and their selections...

DJ Bruno is a name that needs little to no introduction. However, we'd be missing an opportunity to express how deeply grateful we are to be hosting this exclusive mix from one of House Musics greatest contributors. Bruno has always been there for us. We can recall times when record shopping in Boston was an easy way to spend your weekend hours. Visiting Bruno at his Biscuithead Records Store was easily the best stop. Somehow you left there with so much more than just vinyl. The respect he showed for his customers and friends always left a lasting impression. You always came away better for it. Whether you were lucky enough to catch those early years at  the Loft or stumbled into any of his Utopia parties in Boston, you know that his closest friends are family. Everyone is welcome. The dancing and Unity are infectious. It's been there as long as I can remember. How many cities or scenes can say that ? 

This one hour mix is something special that many will be pleasantly surprised by. A few years back, Bruno played an old school Jungle set at Elements in Cambridge Ma. The longest running drum & bass night in the country we might add. While Bruno is well known for Deep house and beyond, it's not every day that you'd catch something so completely spectacular. He tore it up with all the riddims and rolls and made it look effortless. From that day on, I always wanted to share that experience with anyone I could. This mix brings House and Jungle together. Wicked.

DJ BRUNO’s been djing in Boston since 1987. Became known in the college scene in the late 80’s to early 90’s for mixing Hip Hop, Reggae, RnB & House Music. Then in 1991 he began a residency at the BOSTON LOFT with Armand Van Helden. Then in February of 1992 he started the Legendary Utopia Parties. Utopia still remains as one of Boston’s hottest DEEP HOUSE MUSIC events. In 2006 Boston Magazine awarded him DJ OF THE YEAR. In 2007 Weekly Dig awarded Utopia Sundays the BEST HOUSE NIGHT IN BOSTON. On December 22, 2012 he was forced to retire due to health issues with diabetes. That same evening politician Tito Jackson gave him an award that said December 22, 2012 was DJ BRUNO DAY. After an operation which caused him to lose some of his vision he enrolled in the Carroll Center for the Blind. At the center he learned to cope with his blindness and to continue loving life. Still determined to do what he loves he came out of retirement on July 2013. That same month he released his first mix cd in 14 months titled “BLIND FURY”. Today he is still doing what he loves and will continue to do so until the day he dies. “LIFE AIN’T WORTH LIVING IF YOU CAN’T DO WHAT YOU LOVE DOING!”

DJ Dig-Doug got his start in 1984 making hip-hop and electro mix tapes for his breakdancing crew in Detroit. In the late 80’s he cut his
teeth in the Detroit Techno scene spinning at after hours events and house parties until he moved to Florida in 1992.

DJ Dig-Doug originally made a name and reputation for himself as a DJ, promoter and event producer throughout the Orlando and Central Florida. He turned-on to jungle and drum-n-bass in 1994.

Dig-Doug emerged in New England in 2000 and has shown boundless
energy for pushing the sound forward, leaving his footprint all over the New England Jungle and Drum & Bass scene. Between his heavy gigging schedule as both a supporting and headlining DJ throughout the region (opening-up for the likes of legends such as Digital, Friction, Remark, John B, Machete, DJ Dara, AK1200, Aphrodite, Voltage, Quadrant & Iris, and World of Drum & Bass with Drumsound & Baseline Smith, DJ SS and Crissy Criss), while playing regularly at seminal East Coast weeklies like Elements (Boston)and Konkrete Jungle (NYC), as well as Producing and Promoting the New England Junglists "UNITED” Events, Revolution Podcast, and clothing/merch line, Dig-Doug has his hands in everything jungle in New England today.

Episode 374 brings us our first mix, in which we are teaming up with the deadly, DNB Girls! Arietta steps for this first mix, holding down the DNB Girls crew!

Arietta's mix warms up nicely, taunting the listener with the imminent destruction to come! Arietta then takes the gloves off and comes out swinging, featuring some nasty neuro, dance floor, and heavy rollers!! Mixes throughout feature an exquisite layering of vocal tracks and intros and outros!! Arietta brings it down for a moment with some soulful tunes, then turns up the heat, smashing it with footwork and dancefloor tracks!! Arietta goes in on this one!

Let's meet our selektah, Arietta:
Dj and Producer Arietta is known to provide infectious broken beat dance grooves with an uplifting presence, but never afraid to go too deep into her emotive musical selections. Her 15 years of classical/jazz training as a multi-instrumentalist and composer presently translates into sets where she infuses a sense musicality and ethereal atmosphere, to tell a story showcasing a deep understanding of the sonic terrain that is Drum and Bass and Breaks music.
Her eclectic take on bass music rooted early on. She got her first set of turntables at 16, and by the time she was 18 she held a club residency in her hometown of Phoenix, AZ. From then on she was a frequent Drum and Bass performer in the Southwest US underground. After a brief hiatus to focus on electroacoustic art installation and ethnomusicology, in 2014 she launched a breakbeat duo project, eventually reverting her primary focus back to solo performance in early 2016.
Though she loves playing in nightclubs and at festivals, her passion for music goes beyond the spectrum of technical mixing and stylistic production. She founded the national artist collective and platform, formerly known as ANIMA, and has shown her commitment to building social/political awareness through her various electronic music projects.
Currently based in Boston, MA, Arietta remains active in live performance in scenes across the country, and is the host of BASS Movement, a weekly, worldwide, radio show on dnbradio.com. Most recently, Arietta has independently released an EP, Coded Dreams Vol. 1, various singles and provided remix support. She’s been featured in the NewTimes, ThatDrop.com, BEST Drum and Bass, EDM Identity, Relentless Beats, and Life Support Machine amongst other national and international blogs. She’s hard at work on her first solo Drum and Bass album guaranteed to show her passion and purpose through sound.

This is the third exclusive that Furious has done for us, and its hard to imagine that the bar is getting raised each time,  and yet here we are. We felt that the thoughtfulness, moodiness and tension of the mix, paired perfectly with the ball of confusion, and state of the world , as we see it through our own eyes. Emotional in the best of ways.  Here lays a collage of melodies and rollers mixed feverishly, beautifully - while keeping us honest....There is no party.
