Currently residing in Manchester, some of you may have come across Liam as the head honcho of the podcast series All My Friends (https://www.facebook.com/AllMyFriendsMCR/). Thos of you not familiar, this is a series which champions Manchester local club nights, collectives and individuals. Previous guests on his podcast include All Hands on Deck, Modern Logic as well as our good friends Nite School and others. It's definitely worth heading over and checking out. We've invited him onto our mix series due to loving his personal sounds and style... This on in particular is incredibly chill, full of a lot of slower, Lo-fi, Jazzy sounds that are all very well gelled together.

Better known to some as Belfast DJ, Ryan Stewart, NuJamz has become a well-respected name in Northern Ireland’s electronic music scene. With over a decade of experience, he has played a key role at Thompsons Garage since 2013, bringing his passion for underground house, disco, acid, and techno to the club’s loyal following. During his current Stereo Sessions residency, he has had the privilege of playing right before top international names such as Cinthie (Berlin), Prosumer (Berlin), Riva Starr (Naples), Eli Escobar (New York), Sarah Story (BBC Radio 1), Dan Shake (London), and many others.

Starting his DJing journey in 2002, NuJamz was inspired by the vibrant club scene and his regular visits to Shine at Queen's Student Union. By 2009, he had played his first gig in Belfast and spent the next few years refining his skills, playing at places like The Stiff Kitten and becoming a fixture in the local scene.  

From 2014 to 2020, NuJamz had a radio residency at Belfast Underground Records studios, where he delivered live mix shows broadcast between 2 to 4 hours. He also brought on local, talented DJs for guest spots, a couple of whom have since gone on to work with some of the best musicians in the industry. He has recorded live streams for his Stereo Sessions residency, showcasing his talent and dedication to his craft. 
During the lockdown, he kept the energy alive, regularly clocking up 9-hour sets in Thompsons, providing an outlet for the community and continuing his musical journey.

NuJamz has also contributed mixes for BBC Radio Ulster, Queen's University Radio, and Blast 106, expanding his reach beyond live events.

A standout moment in NuJamz's career came in October 2023, when he helped open a brand new never used before warehouse space in Derry for Jika Jika with Cisco and Stephen Porter. The event was attended by nearly 2,000 people, history was made, handing over the headphones to the legend Fatboy Slim after warming up with a unique style that captivated the crowd alongside long time B2B DJ partner Cisco.

In another memorable moment, Jax Jones invited NuJamz to play at a pop-up party in Belfast in a Chinese Restuarant, where he received some amazing feedback for his performance.

NuJamz is also a regular guest DJ for Jika Jika in Derry, having first played Ebrington Square in 2017 for the Drumcode festival. He later appeared as a special guest at Sugar nightclub and has gone on to DJ at several festivals for them at Malin Head, including playing after the legend Sasha and warming up for Global Underground icon Dave Seaman.

Known for his exceptional taste in music and technical ability, NuJamz is counted as a master of the groove and one of the best underground house selectors in Ireland.

As he heads into 2025, after 16 years of playing regularly in Belfast and nearly 25 years in the game, NuJamz looks forward to taking things to the next level with fresh edits and new original productions and back to basics with vinyl only sets.  Whether playing B2B with longtime partner Cisco or performing solo, he remains focused on creating an experience for his audience, continuing to evolve while staying true to his love of underground sounds.
