ARTIST/RELEASE INFORMATION:

The inaugural release for the Love Dose imprint comes fittingly from our own stable of artists. On the heart side of the record is a track by Motif, a production duo based in Manchester. The duo is comprised of David Walker (Wokeye) and Peter Asiaw (Josimar).


David, is quickly becoming a very sought after producer having worked alongside Hot Since 82 and being asked to do remixes for artist such as the fast rising Bipolar Sunshine. Peter, a house DJ with a keen ear for a musical gems that has not gone unnoticed by house brands such as Wolf Music and Millionhands. 



Teaming up under the Motif moniker to provide a classic house cut in Silicon Serenade. A rolling baseline underpins a track with a sumptuous house melody and the breakdown is something to behold. This piece of wax is ready to blow up any dancefloor.



On the drop side of the record is a track from David's solo output under the name of Wokeye. The track Roll the Dice has a sublime Jazzy Techno vibe with a euphoric piano section, tied together with a Charles Bukowski monologue.



Destined for big things these two artists are already making noises having been approached to play at the Warehouse Project  and they are making serious moves on the Manchester House scene.

Not showing any signs of letting up in the new year, Whiskey Pickle Records keeps the funk rolling with a brand new single from the legendary duo of Gavin & Robbie Hardkiss. As founders of the classic U.S. rave progenitor Hardkiss alongside their sorely missed brother Scott Hardkiss, the pair have been mainstays in every aspect of dance music as producers, promoters, label heads, and world-class DJs.

Fast forward to 2014 and the lads are still at it, offering up their latest creation in the form of “RetroactiveFuturisticPsychedelicFunkBump,” the second single from their forthcoming album 1991 which is due later this year. A slick slab of electro-boogie rhythms, the single features vocoded vox and a nasty bass that'll take listeners on an interstellar voyage from Cybotron to Planet Rock.

A release such as this requires some serious thought when considering remixers, and Whiskey Pickle spared no expense. Having such industry luminaries as James Curd (of Greenskeepers fame) and Q-Burns Abstract Message, as well as Gavin Hardkiss' own Hawke moniker on board has proved to be essential in creating the total package. Each remixer finds a perfect, complimentary vibe to the original; whether it's the glossy, disco-funk of the James Curd version, or the relentless 808 bass and layered breaks on the Q-Burns Abstract Message treatment … or maybe it’s the retro, balearic vibe of the Hawke remix that does the trick? Whatever the occasion, Whiskey Pickle has the correct medicine to ease any afflictions.

Whiskey Pickle Records is proud to present the debut release from European native, Xander Milne. As the assistant label manager to Alan Braxe's, Vulture Music, Xander has been steeped in house music culture for ages. Once Whiskey Pickle caught wind that he was shopping original tunes, a week's time was all that was needed for the two parties to reach an agreement and set about a release.

A-side, "I Know You," is a stunning collaboration between Xander Milne and Whiskey Pickle stalwart, Abstrakt Audio. The pair's distinctive styles blend to create a modern house jam with heavy praises to the old school. Title cut, "Let Me Fuse," is a twisted romp with notes of acid, electro and tropical flavors,  a stunning debut from a promising, new artist. 

Tapped on the remix front, Abstrakt Audio makes his second appearance to inject the usual retro vibes with some heavy swung percussion and stabby chords to get those house-heads bobbin'. Austin's own Daelo turns in a tech-infused, hypnotic stomper to round out the package.

All in all, another solid addition to the WP catalog.
