Boots On Tape #2

It takes me forever to put a mix together, much longer than I'd like to admit. The Tangerine Mix has been no exception. This isn't a mix of brand new songs, in fact, most of these tracks came out several years ago. Tangerine Mix

After feeling like electronic & pop music was losing its soul, I became a bit nostalgic and started listening through the music that had inspired me over the years while sitting under the air con. This reminded me of the importance of timelessness and originality, something which was a big inspiration in my early stages of production. Being timeless and relevant at the same time is an extremely fine line and I'm sure its a hard one to master. This mixtape is a reminder that music isn’t about hits or ticket sales, it’s first and foremost about making your art and making it special.

So here is a "A Nostalgic Summer Pt. 1" to celebrate some of my favorite timeless electronic tracks and some newbies I hold in high regard.

Moon Boots x Hard Candy: Liftoff Mixtape

This pesky pandemic business got you in need of a pick me up? We've brought our our favourite LA-based Australian synth-poppers and panty droppers @miamihorror DJs to take you on a journey to the epicentre of poolside pleasure. 

As a proud supporter of Support Act, this series is our platform to connect with our favourite artists and raise awareness for the artists, crew and music workers affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

This week we're joined by the man behind the mammoth musical force Mr Benjamin Plant aka the bands producer, synth-lord and bass guitar-slapper to bring their signature baselines and funk to your next lounge-room boogie. 

Since founding the band out of a love of Roland keyboards and French-house, Miami Horror have gone onto become a prominent fixture within the Australian pop-dance scene with nostalgic classics like Sometimes and Real Slow soundtracking some of our fondest summer shenanigans. 

With a new album on the horizon, we caught up with Mr Plants for a quick lowdown on life in lockdown in LA before he blessed us all with an upbeat and sun-touched curation of poolside vibes. Stream the mix via SoundCloud and peep the our blog for the full interview.
