Our First release of the year is a dance floor bomb which marks the label debut for Kid Bamboo, a Greek DJ who plays in top clubs worldwide. 'Carousel', first afro house track naming this EP is certainly worth discovering, with its convincing synth line, persistent groove and rhythmic elements. Enoo Napa gives us his interpretation, as usual terrific, with a solid bass line and a slightly darker atmosphere. To complete the EP, you'll find 'If You Ever' an organic house track, with entertaining melodies and rhythms, and a mysterious vocal which takes you far away. Viel (IT) offers a dreamy version of this piece, slightly more progressive, with dancing elements and sinuous piano and strings vibes. A worthwhile long awaited new year's inauguration.

As Monkey Safari's Body Language 24 fast approaches, Get Physical serve up another single from it. 

German pair Monkey Safari are known for their exotic and intoxicating house sounds. They have been teasing plenty of the tracks from their much anticipated new mix for home label Get Physical and this time out they are in remix mode. 

Here they draw on their considerable studio know-how to serve up a remix of DJ Pierre feat. Chic Loren's 'I Feel Love.' Chicago-born Pierre is of course a legend by any standards - the godfather of acid house, the man behind the iconic W!ld Pitch remixes, Acid Afro label head and an enduring innovator whose name will forever be intrinsically linked to the story of dance music itself. 

The Monkey Safari remix is a slow-burning but moving track with rolling drums and exquisite cosmic synth craft up top. The original iconic vocal from Donna Summer is sung by Chic Loren with a more angelic edge and the whole thing makes for a transcendental dance floor experience. 

Also included is the ‘1979 Disco Club Mix’ which was first released on DJ Pierre’s album ‘Wild Pitch: The Story’. The mix has more texture and raw old-school energy, the synths are prickly and serrated, the drums hit hard and the whole thing is a more direct workout. 

This is another mouthwatering package from both Monkey Safari and the Body Language mix.

One Tribe label-owner AMÉMÉ makes his debut production appearance on Crosstown Rebels next month with the three-track Drum Beat. The EP includes a remix by longstanding US house veteran Joeski, marking a major career achievement for the Benin born talent. 

AMÉMÉ spoke on how the release took shape, as well as what it represents in today’s world: “My latest EP Drum Beat is the perfect assemblage of past and present, as it blends elements of my musical roots with current day inspirations. Loca reaches into the Latin realm and on the other side is Drum Beat, which reflects the deep anchor of my upbringing in West African music. Together these tracks create an eclectic and energetic pairing that feel right at home on Crosstown Rebels.”

The Latin influence is experienced right from the word go on Loca, as Saharan-esque elements build alongside resonant hats and playful, Spanish-like vocals. Tribal percussion drifts in and out alongside, whilst whirring key solos feature subtly throughout. Drum Beat comes next, manifesting as a welcome slice of contemporary Afro house that’s packed full of raw instrumentals and authentic lyrical samples, before Joeski’s remix brings things to an up-tempo, club ready close.

Specialising in Afro-leaning electronic music, AMÉMÉ has marked himself as one of the continent’s breakthrough talents in recent years. Head of One Tribe, his productions have been supported by the pioneering figure of Black Coffee since 2019, whilst his appearances on Watergate Records, Blond:Ish’s Abracadabra imprint and the mighty MoBlack Records have been equally well-received, firmly establishing his presence as one of modern dance music’s rising stars.

Joeski’s trajectory can be traced back to 1991, when he burst onto the NYC house scene as a founding member of The Chocolate Factory DJ collective. Since then, the US veteran has garnered a worldwide following thanks to his Maya label, which was first incepted in 2001, as well his keen ear for production that has seen him release on Crosstown Rebels, Relief and a myriad of other heavyweight imprints in recent years.

Following his latest and greatest collaboration with Moon Harbour's founder Matthias Tanzmann, Black Circle is now back on the label in solo mode. His party-ready 'Double Dip' is a tribal-tinged tech house tune with chunky drums. The silvery textures and carefully scattered percussion are organic and vibrant, with chanting vocals adding plenty of soul.
