The prolific producer has been working on his craft since the 90s and shows off his garnered knowledge on each exquisite track on the release, dripped each in its own dose of crackling acid techno. A whirling breakbeat tune called 'ACKF1N' is the leading track off the EP and it's arrived for a first premiere listen below. BinaryFunction's 'USER' EP is out on June 5.

Premiere: BinaryFunction 'ACKF1N'

It’s been two years since Stefan Z last released on this label, but the three tracks he serves up prove the wait has been more than worth it.

The Berlin based Canadian is the boss of the Rhombus label and is a top electronic production talent. He makes his sounds stand out with slick vocals or moving melodic elements, most likely because of his formally trained piano and trumpet playing skills. He’s had support from the likes of Sasha, Solomun and Adriatique, and his label parties in Vancouver were key in developing the city’s underground scene.

The super title track goes first and is a freaky number with spacecraft circling the groove, building tension in the melodic riffs and futurism in the drums. It’s a dramatic track with heavy, lumpy kicks and one to jolt the floor into action.

‘Borni’ is another long and involving tune, this time with more mystery and suspense in the way it builds. The drums get you marching as synths and ghoulish motifs pan about to creepy effect. It’s a real set building track that keeps you on edge.

Lastly, ‘Cipe’ is the toughest of the lot, with stiff hits and withering cosmic chords speaking of an intergalactic war. Underpinned by warm bass, it’s a widescreen cinematic affair with real beauty in the pads that eventually take over the show.

All three tracks here are mini epics that really take you on a trip.

[Premiere] Golden Bug - Taste Of Love (Il Est Vilaine Remix)

Napoli forward Jose Callejon may or may not be the subject of this new track from Inigo Vontier with Roman & Castro, with 57 goals for Napoli since 2013 he has been instrumental in Napoli's success,  Callejon, that is not Vontier or Roman & Castro. However, these three amigos have piqued the ears of Roam boss Jason JP and have turned in a beast of an EP. Jason, obviously not being content to Roam to Mexico and has roamed to Leyton East London to find a remix from former Battant Bass player and sometime Weatherall production partner Timothy J. Fairplay.
Fairplay does the business with a track which switches between trance, prog and the theme tune from a hard hitting 80s TV Private Investigator series set in New York starring Edward Woodward.
While Jose Callejon and Edward Woodward probably have little to do with this track, it is easy to see why this peak time lo-fi hi-fi smash is nasty with just the right hint of nice. Roam have been one of the most prolific labels this year and this is epitomises how good they have been.

Exclusive Coma - Spiracles (Panthera Krause Remix)

Cologne based band Coma released its emotionally catchy mindset Voyage Voyage in late 2019 on the City Slang imprint. The ten-tracker not only stylistically covers a wide range of electronic music but – and more important – Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad precisely captured a collection of moods and sound conglomerations to interconnect them and create a stylistically confident album, which takes the listeners through different musical layers without even noticing it. Now, a good four months after the initial release of Voyage Voyage, the album or rather a small colllection of three tracks from the album, namely A-Train, Bits And Pieces and Spiracles, undergo the remix treatment from renowned artists of the electronic music scene. While Lauer and Julian Stetter reworked Bits And Pieces, Map.ache and Sau Poler revitalized A-Train and lastly Kino Todo and Riotvan co-label head Panthera Krause took on Spiracles. The latter and Leipzig-based creative focuses on the  disco-ish note of Spiracles and emphasizes it by adding a simple yet effective bass line and also pitching the vocals to then add piano chords creating an anthem full of happiness – a counterpart to current social trends and state of minds. 

Coma's Voyage Voyage Remixes will be released on City Slang on March 6th, 2020.
