Detroit native Young Muscle (@architecture_in_tokyo) brings his first full EP to Scuffed Recordings, exploring an array of heavy hitting electronic influences over three new tracks.
Rounding things off is the appropriately named ‘Beat Up By the Drum’, a relentlessly percussion-fuelled club workout.

Then it split and both halves lost something as a result. The more the tentacles extended and branched out, the more each limb solidified. Once vital and hungry, formula ate away at risk and intuition. 
But that never happened. 
Cynicism was never aloud to form. The tendrils kept growing, each extension Weaving in and out of itself. Individual in shape yet sharing the same function. 
It was as if the seeds that were first planted were aloud to take hold and in turn, we were given voice.

Maracaibo born, Berlin based Manao steps up next for No Static / Automatic with an EP that is deeply personal and built on the foundation of old-school electro inspired, bass-heavy beats. 
Featuring Dance Trax collaborator Viikatory, it is an expression of Manao’s up to date, upfront and playful take on the electro sound that is at the core output.

While this EP brings full energy for the dance, the "Definicion Cero" was born out of a period of change and challenge in Manao’s life. Losing his entire analogue studio to theft just after moving to Berlin, this music comes out of a period of upheaval and loss resulting in a creative reset. Starting again from zero and nothing but a Macbook Pro to create on, this number is also seen as a symbol of infinite potential and opportunity to lay new foundations. "Definicion Cero" is the opening of a new chapter for Manao and life as an artist in Berlin.

‘Computer Rock’ rides a tough break slow and hard and injects dystopian electro synth licks into the mix for a darkside roller that celebrates the visionary talent of Jeff Brown, aka Kase 2. Brown pioneered graffiti in the 70s with futuristic styles that still hold sway today, leaning into his own sci-fi imaginings about computer worlds inhabited by extra-terrestrial beings, Brown passed away in 2011, and this track and the attendant B2 cut ‘Kase - Reprise’ pay tribute to a forefather of hip-hop culture by channeling the future shock styles of Bambaataa et al without ever sounding throwback.
