Bwana is a name you may not have heard from in a while. Well, the reasons for that are apparent now: in spite of a strong start, he didn’t want to get swept away as the digital tide went out. Having secured a coveted release on Will Saul’s Aus - not to mention mastering by Gingy, and backed with a Simian Mobile Disco remix on the flip - the man is evidently making good on lost time with “Flute Dreams”.

If that title raises an immediate red flag, fear not. The track does well to repair the (justifiably) wretched reputation that flautists have accrued from their “contributions” to prog rock and Goa trance. Gliding across a galloping beat and a deep bassline stretched repeatedly to disintegration, the flute in question sits cosily, tag-teaming any synth line for a melody that’s tonally richer and a little more distinctive. Odds on you’ll find yourself whistling this in no time.

Morris Audio welcomes italian hot shot Kocleo! A skillfull DJ and producer, Kocleo has been releasing his music on labels like Definitive and recently on Kerri Chandler’s Madtech. The 4 tunes of his “Float” EP are pure Tech House. “Float” starts with lush organ stabs with echoing vocals and strings, continuing with a bass led house cut and percussions. The deep and dubby “Float” remix is by another up and coming versatile italian producer: Whitesquare (Skint, Noir and Defected). The B-side with “Same things” and “Unaware” offers more bass driven catchy and funky House tunes and makes Morris Audio 95 a well rounded release. Grazie!

From the birth of his career in 2012, Rome-native Whitesquare has been championed by many successful DJs and producers. The newest signing to the Leeds imprint and 2020 Vision family, Whitesquare marks a shift in direction for both label and artist with ‘Peaks.’

The release signifies more than a few beginnings; the start of summer, a change in production values for Whitesquare and a re-branding of the label. ‘Peaks’ pure and euphoric 4 tracks of melodic, deep and emotive house and techno effortlessly bridges these gaps.

Both A-sides ‘Someone Else’ and ‘About The Past’ are characterised by a mellow lyricism that progresses into steady dance floor cuts. Whilst, B-side ‘Abraxas’ and 'Peaks' shift gear into deeper techno territory, containing a darker agenda, swirling into compelling compositions in their own right.

The union between Whitesquare and 2020 Vision seems like a perfect fit and with more releases in the pipeline, this is certainly only the beginning. Today we are proud to premiere 'Someone Else'. Take a listen below and let us know what you think of the track.

​About a year ago we had Clouded Vision boss Matt Walsh go In Session for us. What he delivered was an hour of wriggly and writhing techno cuts, with Locked Groove, Daniel Avery and Ripperton all included. 

The mix itself was in a similar vein to the Bugged Out! associate's own tracks and remixes, whether it's 2010's 'Honey Comb' on Wax:On Music or his rejig of Daniel Avery's 'Free Floating'.
