Adroit Podcast Series #03 - Insolate

Hailing from the industrial hub of Osijek, Croatia and with 20 years of experience in the DJ booth, this installment of the podcast series is provided by Insolate, a true veteran of the croatian techno scene. It would seem unlikely that someone living so far off from the techno capitals of Europe could end up performing in the most renowned clubs the continent has to offer. Yet Insolate did just this, playing in venues like Berghain, Rex, Under Club and at many major festivals, as well as releasing her own tracks on esteemed labels such as Deeply Rooted, Singular and Modularz. Despite her success, Insolate always stayed true to her heritage and kept supporting the local scene that once supported her. Together with Volster, with whom she also founded the label Out of Place, Insolate started the TRAUM event series in her hometown of Osijek, further helping to nurture local talent. Her efforts were recognized in 2017, when she was awarded the title of "Croatia's ambassador overseas". The reason for her success lies in her uncompromising passion for the genre, which can be heard in every one of her sets. Enjoy this groovy and powerful journey!

Over the past years Insolate has proven that she is one of the most interesting artists our scene has to keep an eye on. Many strong releases, such as her ‘Sins EP’ on Ben Sims’ label Symbolism and ‘Cern Research Center 35’ on Developer’s Modularz, have already had a great impact on the dancefloor. 

Besides building her way on a musical level, Insolate is a great contributor to the Croation music scene as well. As a co-host of TRAUM (together with Volster, who provided FrenzyPodcast #096), she makes sure a great selection of quality techno comes to her country.

It is a great honor and pride to host our Croatian sister - Insolate on our platform! I don't think anyone needs to be introduced to this artist, who has been influencing the local techno scene for many years!

A veritable powerhouse of the Croatian techno scene Insolate has been establishing a global presence as a DJ and producer for over 20 years delivering as both a label boss at Out Of Place and the creative force behind their electrifying TRAUM events. Hailing from Osijek, Croatia, on the wide Croatian East – a town that at first glance a heavy industrial atmosphere overshadows, she is making her first steps as a DJ back in 1997 before taking over European and worldwide clubs. 
Her list of clubs and partys she played is impressive and includes Berghain, Rex, Tresor, Under Club, Club d’Anvers, Unter, Exit Festival, Tomorrowland, ADE and Dimensions Festival. Amongst many European clubs she played numerous tours in Colombia and recently added USA, China and Argentina to the list.
As a producer, she's had a string of releases on highly respected labels including Ellen Alien’s Bpitch, Ben Sims’s Symbolism and Machine, DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted, Marcelus’s Singular and Developer’s Modularz - supported and played by some of techno's finest including Laurent Garnier, DVS1, Dax J and Ilario Alicante. Also she released the stellar Obscure Object Of Desire EP on JoeFarr's new User Experience imprint, EP for a Suara and beautiful EP for Proletarijat, label run by Sev Dah. She also contributed to Ben Sim’s compilation Tribology among giants as Planetary Assault Systems, Oscar Mulero, Steffi etc. and also made super interesting collaboration with french producer Arnaud le Texier and released EP with him for Prodigal Son.
In 2019. she announced her debut album. The album Order is Chaos was released as a double vinyl and contains 10 tracks with extremely interesting collaborations with MATRIXXMAN and singer SARA RENAR. DJ Mag (UK) described album as “exciting journey thru trans-dimensional vocals, acid drenched sequences and floor obligated bangers.” In 2021. she started Online Production Masterclass right after attending 1U4 Leadership Academy when everything went online during pandemic and no one could access classrooms - so we all switched to the virtual ones. Her and long-time partner in crime Volster also run the event series TRAUM in her native Osijek. TRAUM events have cemented their place in the clubbing calendar with quality artists like Paula Temple, Antigone, Cassegrain, Janice, Etapp Kyle and Milton Bradley, just to name a few. The final part of putting Osijek on the techno map was taken in 2015 with the launch of the label Out Of Place which Insolate runs with Volster. The label was named in honour of the beautiful struggle of carving your own way into the scene from a place that's well off the grid from the traditional capitals of techno. Now five releases strong, the label has already had contributions from heavyweights like Milton Bradley, Developer, JoeFarr, Francois X, Janice and many more. As a DJ, Insolate is well known for her no-compromise, pure-bred techno sets. It's clear to anyone who's seen her perform that she's an artist with a lot of experience but also plenty of inspiration and ambition, and a deep knowledge of techno. for 2017 and also 2019. when she won 4 awards for the best DJ, single of
the year, remix of the year and again, ambassador overseas.

As a DJ, Insolate is well known for her no-compromise, pure-bred techno
sets. It's clear to anyone who's seen her perform that she's an artist with
a lot of experience but also plenty of inspiration and ambition, and a deep

Hailing from Osijek, Croatia, on the wide Croatian East – a town that at first glance a heavy industrial atmosphere overshadows - this is where she made first steps as a DJ back in 1997 before taking over European and worldwide clubs. She's already played some of the world’s most renowned clubs including Berghain, Rex, Tresor, Under Club, Club d’Anvers, Unter, Exit Festival, Tomorrowland, ADE and Dimensions Festival plus numerous Colombian tours over the years and USA tour and Argentina added to the list in 2018.

As a producer, she's had a string of releases on highly respected labels including DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted, Marcelus’s Singular and Developer’s Modularz - supported and played by some of techno's finest. She also released the stellar Obscure Object Of Desire EP on JoeFarr's new User Experience imprint, two original tracks that stroke the perfect balance between groove, power and emotion. She also contributed to Ben Sim’s compilation Tribology among giants as Planetary Assault Systems, Oscar Mulero, Steffi etc. and also made super interesting collaboration with french producer Arnaud le Texier and released EP with him for Prodigal Son.
