Chris Liebing is synonymous with techno. His legacy is long assured, but his craft never stops evolving. Whether as label head, podcast curator, DJ or producer, he continues to challenge himself and his audience to explore new realms in the electronic world. And often ahead of the curve, too, from the early, hard-edged and loopy 90s sound which is back en vogue today, through his more stripped-back turn of the millennium minimalism and onto the cinematic atmospheres and broader alternative electronica of his latest albums on Mute. It's no stretch to say, then, that Chris Liebing's story is closely connected to the story of techno itself. 

Liebing is considered a global techno ambassador, but his ambitious album projects and direct club tracks excite and innovate as much as any new school star. A proudly forward-thinking attitude ensures that is the case as his DJ tools and studio setup constantly evolve. He continues to be an early adopter of emerging technology, too, just as he was with vinyl controllers, Traktor and when leading the way with full hybrid/live DJing. 

These days, Liebing incorporates an ever wider sphere of sound into his own work. After an eight-year break from full lengths, 2018's Burn Slow on Mute was a creative rebirth that received critical acclaim and confounded all expectations. It was a melancholic mediation on gothic moods, looming apocalyptic landscapes and optimistic broken-beat techno that drew from his childhood love of Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and the New Romantic movement. 

Remixes for Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp followed alongside a collaborative single with Charlotte De Witte, and 2021 brought a second album on Mute, Another Day. It found Liebing exploring all new ways of expressing both his euphoric and melodic side, all with high-grade technical skill and meticulous sonic craft with a range of collaborators from Miles Cooper Seaton to Polly Scattergood. This exceptional form continued into 2023 as he returned to the club with his Love Those Who Fight With Passion And Faith EP on CLR, a passionate and politically charged call to the dance floor that joined Liebing and Luke Slater’s remix of Depeche Mode’s iconic ‘Ghosts Again’ in the first half of the year. 

Born in Giessen and active ever since the 1990s, Liebing has always platformed the talent around him as much as himself: a long time before they were commonplace, he famously helmed his own CLR podcast. For many years, it was the scene's most influential series, with a who's who of international pioneers at the helm. After that came the equally important AM/FM radio show, but now following a hiatus, the CLR podcast is back and pushing a fresh techno agenda, as is his iconic label of the same name.

In its first chapter, CLR stood for Chris Liebing Records, then Create Learn Realize, and now Create Learn Repeat - a subtle evolution that is at the heart of everything Liebing does. The label will always be synonymous with exciting techno and is now back hosting parties and festival stages. 

Though his music is underpinned by pulsating menace and a stomping sense of drama, Liebing himself is friendly with a famous smile. It is the music that motivates him and the freedom that comes with increased experience. These days there are no limits, no expectations, but a continued love for the art and craft of techno that is taking him down all new creative pathways.

Exactly 100 years after Albert Einstein, Markus G. is born in Münster, Germany. As home of the legendary techno and house locations Cosmic Club and Dockland, Münster becomes the western capital of the German electronic music movement in the 1990ies. At the age of 14, Markus discovers the Elevator, the first techno record shop of the region which strictly serves DJs, and starts jobbing there. Quickly he recognized his purpose and MG’s mixing skills develop fast and his preference for a dark and straight-forward style of techno emerges with it. MGness is derived from selection of music that he becomes known for: “Markus Gxxxxxr’s Nervous Exciting Sound Spectrum”. 1995 The Cosmic Club gets awarded as Club of the Year by the Raveline Magazine. During this peak of the techno movement in Münster, MGness designated as resident DJ into it.
He sets up his first proper sound studio directly above the main floor of the new Cosmic Club. Playing uncountable sets right before or after DJ icons like Sven Väth, Paul van Dyk, WestBam, Chris Liebing , Thomas Schumacher, Dave Angel or Luke Slater only feeds Markus’ addiction to perfection as DJ and producer even more.
With his first appearance as main live act of a Cosmic Club night, a dream comes true for the elec- tronic musician MGness in 1999. In 2002 MGness releases his first EP called “Re-EP” on Rawcanine Records, which is produced together with Kai Niggemann and Oliver Froning (Dune). As well in this Year the Raveline Magazine sends him as a DJ Instructor over to Ibiza for teaching the Art of DJing to Offspring DJs. When the Cosmic Club becomes homeless in 2003, MGness focuses on DJ gigs in clubs throughout Europe where he represents his musical home base.
End of 2004, MGness has the honor to produce the official anthem for Mysticland 15, the last event of the Cosmic Club makers. He performs it in his live act at primetime of this memorable final Cos- mic excess. His biggest release so far is “Elevator DJ Tunes”, a 2-CD compilation which is sold World-wide. The compilation includes as well as 2 exclusive productions by Markus. Looking for a new challenge he moves to Frankfurt he gets a residency at the DC Funkfurt clubbing event series by 2008. Getting deeper and deeper into production technology, MGness releases the well-received “Dreiundzwanzig EP” on October 23, 2009. While MGness is busy in 2011 doing remixes for different artists, he has projected in 2012 new own Releases.

Moved by a Passion for Electronic Music sparked by her experiences in the dance scene of her late teenage years, TIKOA begins her artistic journey as a DJ in her early twenties.
After a short initiation of playing digital Music, she soon discovered the art of mixing vinyl to be her most true form of expression.

Since then, she has been expanding her record collection and developing her sound:
Unrestricted by expectations and preconceptions of genres, her research of sound is focused around peculiar elements and distinct grooves, proudly giving space to anything which conveys an unconventional feeling.

This versatility allows her to handle a wide range of dancefloor situations, sifting through thumping beats and bouncing grooves while keeping an unmistakeable sonic signature. 
In most recent times, she has proved her dexterity on multiple occasions: 
From setting the right mood at opening sets for her residency with Berlin’s Disconnekt collective,
To upholding high energy through extended closing sets in the basement of Tresor Berlin.

In the trend-driven universe of electronic dance music, Gregor Tresher is the rare artist who transcends such cycles. His secret? A relentless focus on melody and timbre, timeless musical elements that other producers often undervalue. Just as a painting or a photograph appears to move if one stares at it long enough, close listening to the stratified grooves and melodies in Tresher's music reveals an organic universe of shifting sound.

Joel Mull's career spans over three decades. With a background studying classical music, singing in choirs and playing in bands, Joel found electronic music at a young age as a source of freedom. His first experience came from DJ’ing in the chill-out areas of rave parties in his native Stockholm during the early 90’s.
With his roots from Germany, Hamburg, he moved to the city in 1994, and worked as a resident DJ for 3 years at one of the biggest techno clubs in Germany, Unit Club. This was an important period for him and as a DJ; It taught him how to control the energy of the night on the dance floor, from warm up sets to 10h marathon sets.

With releases on music labels worldwide along with Cari Lekebusch, Robert Leiner, Adam Beyer and Jesper Dahlbäck he counts to the first wave of Swedish techno producer who became known around the world as the "Swedish techno sound".
He has produced over 100 releases and under various names such as Icarus, Gotzkowsky and most recent under his alias Damm.
He often refers to himself and his craft as a sound architect, and if you’ve ever experienced his club sets, you’ll understand why.
Under his ambient and electronica alias Damm, Joel revives one of his earliest aliases and expands upon this discipline even further.
