The blood is rushing in your ears, your body is full of adrenaline. The breach is already nearby. What will expect you on the other side of the wall? Doesn't matter!

This is one of the battle tracks of the yet unreleased game Anthador.
The lines above were my mindset while composing it. Can you feel it through the music?

Rushing In

... original* composition/draft, solo blown on breathcontroller with a Respiro (Imoxplus) sound. Other VSTs used: TYRELL N6 (u-he) - Bass, ARMINATOR2 - pad , strike (air) - drums, VITAL - plucked.
The list of soft synths used, for once on this track ;-) *by the way, all of my tracks are original works, unless exceptions are explicitly mentioned :-D - Enjoy !

Delighted to present my latest collaboration with The Phaige, one half of Soundcloud stalwarts One and Other, alongside Jaime J Ross. This is a trippy, exotic backcloth with a cold North wind blowing through. 
Gary once again amazed with his creativity and his multi-layered production. He has such a keen ear for detail and brushstrokes to enhance and improve. What grabbed me from the outset was the slinky, fluid bass playing, but there are many levels across the frequencies to hook you in. Always a fun process to work with him.

Well, I found another version of this song. Interesting to compare to the version I posted before. This version would have been recorded a little later when we lived in an apt together after college and played out as a duo a bit. If I remember right this is more of a live sound capture with little to no overdubs (?). We are both playing and singing here and the sound quality is a little better. Still on a Tascam cassette.  Just posting these for fun and I think sometimes it is interesting to hear different versions of a song recorded over time.

Mend Our Love (2)

Dedicated to the memory of a dear friend whose “heart was a valley deep” and “mind was a mountain steep.”  There are many references in this song to the play “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett, which I directed in the 90’s. In that production my friend embodied the character of Estragon perfectly and taught the world something through his presence both on and off stage. His big heart, intelligence, and laughter forever lives my heart and the hearts of many.

This piece was created during a Fredericton Arts Alliance Residency. Guitar music composed and performed by Bryan McDaniel.

2023 - For the past few months I've been working with Public Resource, a California based non-profit to release an extensive collection of older music for free use. In addition to audio, we'll be releasing the music as MIDI and musicxml. Last week we started posting a new featured piece every week on the Public Resource Soundcloud page (@PublicResource). Follow there, or look for frequent reposts here. It'll include classical music, pop music before 1927, ragtime, folk songs, and more. The main collection will be at the Internet Archive, and will be called the "Internet Jukebox". I'll post more about it as it grows.
