PREMIERE: Jakob Mäder - Schleifen [MM Saturns / MM Discos]

After 2 outings on recent SHOUTS compilations, Asa Tate lands on Rhythm Section Intl proper with a timeless EP - “ Replica”.
Asa Tate, fka Tech Support has been on a bit of a tear recently and this record feels like a real step up: a statement of intention aimed directly at the peak time dance floor.

A student of the Weatherall school of DJing, Asa Tate has showcased an astonishingly mature approach to production over the years that belies his age. You’d be forgiven for thinking these 4 tracks had been discovered from a dusty DAT tape, locked away in the vaults of a northern Italian club and rediscovered after 30 years….Listen more closely and you’ll notice the contemporary production flair and more recent influences that make this EP a perfect reinterpretation of the mid 90s house sound: sitting somewhere between dream house and Morales finest work under the red zone moniker.

The EP wastes no time in setting it’s intentions with the A1 Title Track, “Replica” - after a brief and floaty progressive house intro the refrain “ E-e-e-e-e-e-e-ECSTASY” echoes loudly over sampled vocals, euphorias piano chords, throbbing lead synths and a bouncy tech house bass line. It straddles so many sub genres of house without feeling derivative of any of them. Cliche’s and classic samples are embraced playfully and serve to contextualise and elevate the influences. This is not just really great house music or excellent storytelling, it’s art history.

“89” is a sultry deep house cut featuring rising Spanish star, Dariam Coco on Vocals. It floats like a butterfly, but stings like a bee, as the soft chords are interrupted with huge drum fills deftly transforming an after party jam to a peak time moment.

We continue to “ Unknowns” - a masterclass in building tension and holding it - this track simmers with restrained intensity for almost 6 minutes. It’s trademark Asa Tate production at its most understated and classy.

We round of the EP with the fittingly titled “Last Dance”, a wistful composition that brings us back down to earth slowly, safely and gently; always grooving but never pushing - this one is the soundtrack to the end of a long summer day and reaffirms Asa Tate’s claim to be a modern master of Deep House.

We’re super excited to give Ned the platform he deserves and look forward to hearing this one soundtrack many a dance as this long, beautiful summer draws to a close

ANTAM Records, the Paris-based imprint helmed by Bassam and Antoine Sy, continues to flex its vision of contemporary club music with its eleventh release, the various artists EP "Dessert On The Milky Way." True to its title, the project delivers a sweet spread of genre-blurring treats, each track carrying its own unique flavor while orbiting around a shared devotion to groove, texture, and the art of dancefloor storytelling.

Among the highlights, Antoine Sy himself contributes "Disco Computer", a piece that turns its title into a mission statement. This is not nostalgia, but evolution: Electro skeletons dressed in disco sparkle, brushed with the unmistakable sheen of French House. Vocoded computer phrases and occasional spoken vocals add a slyly futuristic layer, while disco-tinged bass and shimmering synth lines fuel a track that is as stylish as it is direct. It thrives on the tension between machine precision and human groove, inviting both hips and heads into its orbit.

As "Dessert On The Milky Way" closes, it reaffirms ANTAM’s role as a label where forward-thinking producers collide and coalesce, each release an experiment in cross-genre conversation. Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and sound engineer Sara Miller returns to Permanent Vacation with 'Oceanic Dream', a three-track EP shaped by her signature blend of emotional resonance and dance floor euphoria. The release follows her acclaimed Lunar Theory EP (2023), her vinyl debut Cervo on Cracki Records (2024), and remixes on Permanent Vacation and Live at Robert Johnson (2024).

Miller’s trajectory has been defined not only by her studio output but also by her presence on Europe’s most iconic dance floors, from Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson to Tresor, London’s Phonox, and Barcelona’s Nitsa. In 2024, she was selected for the Detroit-Berlin Residency, spending two months at Submerge, headquarters of Underground Resistance. There she collaborated with Detroit artist Shawescape Renegade on a hardware live show and was immersed in the city’s culture of resilience, community spirit and innovation. The residency left an enduring impression, enriching her creative voice and reinforcing her dedication to sustainable, community-driven artistry.

"Oceanic Dream" channels this duality: introspective yet euphoric, grounded yet transcendent. Opener “Odyssey” carries the spirit of 90s progressive house into a dreamlike state with its gliding synths, shuffling groove and euphoric vocal samples tracing a hypnotic arc between movement and reflection. “Don’t Stop” takes the energy higher, with a bubbling acid line and soaring synths that push the track toward its zenith, a moment built for the peak of the night. Closing cut “World In You” shifts into a groovier register, where chunky bass, swinging percussion and deep chords combine with sparkling melodies; a nod to the legacy of classic deep house, mellow yet uplifting, its vocal sample proudly declaring “house music” as both homage and affirmation.

With Oceanic Dream, Sara Miller offers her most distilled vision yet: music suspended between dream and drive, equally resonant in reflection and on the dancefloor. It is a release that reflects Miller’s evolution, marking her clearest statement yet in her journey with Permanent Vacation.

Iron Curtis has been quietly crafting house music for many years, so it's fitting he is the first man to drop a full-length on West Yorkshire's finest label, Hudd Traxx. He shows his full range here, and while there are concessions to the full-length format, such as an immersive ambient opener steeped in cosmic radiance, there are also plenty of effective club cuts high on personality. The minimal kinetics of 'Dial Me In' is a standout, while 'Tensione' is dubby and elastic house and 'Dance Inc' slides into soft and dusty bliss for intimate backrooms.
