I resampled Ankhtifi's mastertrack "Tibetan Monastery". I had some fun with wordplay as there seemed to be some allergic reaction to Tibetan money at one time. The former Tibetan Srang being replaced by the Chinese Yuan. Besides adding some traditional percussion samples for effect no other sounds were used, everything you hear is somekind of resample of the original master track. Hope you enjoy it.

About the album:
I have continued to work with A=432Hz tuning, exploring the possibilities of sustained sounds. I have been working towards an even more static atmosphere than on my previous albums.

I'm very interested in the role of time in this kind of music. The sounds have a different effect and meaning depending on how long they last. To me, the music becomes a vehicle to accomplish a meditative state.

Aproximación a lo indivisible (approximation to the indivisible) is based on the consideration about multiplicity and unity. Several texts in different languages, each associated with a different voice treatment, present different views on this idea. The first and main text, in Latin, is an excerpt from a 1663 letter from Baruch Spinoza to Lodewijk Meyer titled "about the nature of infinity." Spinoza explains how thought accesses the true nature of infinity by conceiving it as indivisible and unique while imagination grasps it under the aspect of the multiple and discontinuous. The second text is based on the poem Cycle de l'air (et du sang), of the poet Irène Gayraud. The text deals symbolic and metaphorically with the idea of multiplicity. The third one is a serie of prime numbers of Mersenne and perfect numbers, codified in a invented language based on a tetradecimal numeral system.

Der erste, lateinische Text ist der Haupttext; es ist ein Auszug aus einem Über die Natur der Unendlichkeit betitelten Brief, den Benedictus de Spinoza 1663 an Lodewijk Meyer schrieb. Darin legt Spinoza dar, wie das Denken sich der wahren Natur der Unendlichkeit annähert, indem es sie als unteilbar und einzigartig versteht, während die Vorstellungskraft sie unter dem Aspekt des Multiplen, Diskontinuierlichen begreift. Der zweite Text basiert auf dem Gedicht Cycle de l‘air (et du sang) der Dichterin Irène Gayraud. Dieser Text setzt sich symbolisch und metaphorisch mit der Vorstellung der Multiplizität auseinander. La mémoire est un paysage en constante transformation, où les contours des souvenirs s’effacent comme des traces dans la neige. Avec le temps, les détails s’entrelacent, des fragments s’ajoutent ou se perdent, brouillant les frontières entre réalité et invention. Et pourtant, une douce mélancolie s’attarde sur ces instants qui ne reviendront jamais, ces éclats de vie désormais flous, chargés d’une chaleur inexplicable, figés à présent dans le froid. Ce qui semblait si clair devient une toile de nuances tendres, une vérité réinterprétée par l’esprit, teintée de la nostalgie d’un passé qu’on aimerait revivre, ne serait-ce qu’un instant.

A place for sound freaks lashing out from the dark. 

So there's all kinds of stuff on this page, but after months of schizophrenic debates about who was playing with who and who took the lead while doing it, finally, the decision was made: all my alter egos got together and decided to form a band. From 2020 on new tracks are created under the moniker Gruppo Infernal. Only pure MMTJ tracks will still be named as such. 

Gruppo Infernal still relies on my work as Me, my Thumb and Jack, an ongoing quest for a liberating approach to sound creation where the human body acts as an oscillator amplifying the natural 50hz hum. Direct live recording, improvisations and delay loops only using analog filters and effects. No editing, no overdubs. Gruppo Infernal adds digital treatment to this original sound material. 

UnterPitch was an alter ego using samples & synths.
Bleached Coffins was a one-off project using guitars.
